How Is This Substance Used?
Arsenic is used in agriculture, military and medicine. It is sprayed on crops as an insecticide in many parts of Canada. The military used it as poison during, World War I and II, and many medicines are made with arsenic, such as arsphenamine and arsenic trioxide.

How is This Affecting the Environment? Arsenic damages any life forms it has contaminated. Most animals, fish, bacteria, and birds will die when they come into contact with arsenic. Plants cannot properly photosynthesize.

Also, because many medicines contain arsenic, an overdose can lead to arsenic poisoning.
