Radioisotopes
Definition of an isotope: An isotope is an Atom with the same number of protons, but differing numbers of neutrons. Isotopes are different forms of a single element. Smoke Detectors
I) Americium-241 emits alpha particles.
II)The alpha particles emitted by the Am-241 collide with the oxygen and nitrogen in air in the detector's ionisation chamber to produce charged particles (ions).
When smoke enters the chamber, the smoke particles attach to the charged ions, neutralizing them and stopping the alpha particles.
This causes the number of ions present – and therefore the electric current – to fall, which sets off an alarm.
III) This type of smoke detector is more common because it is inexpensive and better at detecting the smaller amounts of smoke produced by flaming fires.

Tracers
I) Gamma ray.
II) Radioactive isotope, usually injected into the patients’ bloodstream for the purpose of imaging some part of the body. The radiographer puts a detector around the body to detect any gamma rays or beta particles that pass out of the patient's body.
Nuclear radiation can damage cells. To avoid possible harm to the patient, it is important that medical tracers do not stay active in the body for long periods.
III) The radioisotopes used have short half-lives so that they are quickly eliminated from the body, the radiation doses in such procedures are very low and the risks have been carefully examined.

Reality TV! Even the word beings every negative image thought imaginable come racing to my mind. Normally I wouldn’t get so worked up about something as insignificant as TV shows, but reality TV has proven to be the exception. I don’t just hate reality TV I loathe it. Reality TV is just dumb, despicable and disgusting.

I think it’s odd that these shows are called “reality television” when they are so far detached from reality. This brings me to my next point how is becoming the next pop idol or living in a jungle reality? It may be

    * The battery applies a voltage to the plates, charging one plate positive and the other plate negative. Alpha particles constantly released by the americium knock electrons off of the atoms in the air, ionizing the oxygen and nitrogen atoms in the chamber. The positively-charged oxygen and nitrogen atoms are attracted to the negative plate and the electrons are attracted to the positive plate, generating a small, continuous electric current.…

Gamma sterilisation (using Caesium-137) of bandages and surgical equipment has greatly reduced the spread of infection and made surgery safer. Radiation irradiation of foods (using Carbon-14) increases shelf life and kill off any pathogens present in the food. This allows for safer foods, and lowers costs due to spoiling, but may also break up vitamins or nutrients in the food, decreasing its nutritional value.…

A radioisotope is an isotope of an element with different masses, whose nuclei are unstable and dissipate excess energy by spontaneously emitting radiation in the form of alpha, beta, and gamma rays (Radioactive Isotopes, 2017). Radioisotopes have many different uses in the real world, but some of the most beneficial uses are in the field of medicine.…

Three types of radiation-induced injury can occur: external irradiation, contamination with radioactive materials, and incorporation of radioactive material into body cells, tissues, or organs. External irradiation occurs when all or part of the body is exposed to penetrating radiation from an external source. During exposure, this radiation can be absorbed by the body or it can pass completely through. A similar thing occurs during an ordinary chest x-ray.…

Mostly these shows have a bunch of young , good looking self publicists who are placed in unnatural situations , such as Big Boss house and Splitsvilla and then are provoked into behaving oddly. Only their most dramatic parts are shown on tv to create sensationalism.…
