Causal Essay Part I: Outline Template
Assignment Directions: 1) Outline your Causal Essay by following the template below. 2) You do not need to write whole paragraphs for any of the below sections. You simply need to write complete sentences that show the basic outline of your essay. Doing this will give you a guide when writing your rough draft.
ENG-106 Causal Essay Outline
I. Identify a particular problem that exists in the world (i.e., a behavior, event, or trend):
One major problem for me that I have seen that exists in this world today and has shown very little effort in slowing down or stopping would definitely be Criminal Behavior
II. Identify a possible cause (or equal causes) of the problem you identified above:
Genetics, Followers wanting to act in the same way someone else does.
III. Develop a causal argument. Remember, a causal argument is a reason (or point of view) put forth to explain the underlying cause for a particular problem. Use pages 228-233 in the text to help you. Your argument should include the following:
a. A main claim/thesis (Write your thesis statement here):
Criminal Behavior will continue to rapidly progress because people find it not only easier to live a life a crime that a so called normal life, but also because we are finding out more and more that the ones we are supposed to turn to for help are actually involved in criminal behavior as well leaving us with no answer or solution.
b. Support (Make note of what you will use to support your claim):
Many things can cause one’s criminal behavior but just to name a few: gender differences play a role in criminal behavior, as does the race of an individual, or the control a person may have upon another. c. Counterargument (Make note of what kind of counterarguments you will make):
