Graphalogical Deviation

Graphological Deviation By graphology is meant the encoding of meaning in visual symbols. Deviation at this level seems to be much more interesting, but has been sadly neglected in literary discussions in the past. Graphological deviation can occur in any sub-area of graphology, such as the shape of the text, the type of print, grammetrics, punctuation, indentation, etc. Graphological Deviation, is the deviation in which poets disregard the rules of writing. They write the words in such a way without any boundaries in lines, space, or rhymes. Over the course of this assignment , we will chiefly consider deviation in the first three sub-areas, since we will obviously be unable to examine all of them. * Shape of Text: The shape of a piece of literary work, especially a poem, can be designed in an unconventional way so that it may be suggestive of a certain literary theme. The shape of the poem strikes us as most unusual because it is not like that of a conventional poem. When we look more closely at the wording, and use some imagination, we may begin to speculate on why the poet has designed the poem in this way. We become able to appreciate the uniqueness and the originality of the poet's design. The text looks very much like a bull's eye or a target with a series of concentric circles. Most interestingly, the lexical items in the poem support this interpretation. Each circle from the outside to the inside represents a progression in the degree of seriousness of injury. The interpretation of this type of poetry depends much on what the poem looks like. * Type of Print: Literary writers also choose to express their ideas by manipulating the type of print which may include italics, bold print, capitalization and decapitalization, etc. In the following, we will look at a poem in which the poet expresses a unique meaning by deliberate capitalization and de-capitalization of the pronouns in the poem, Me up at does.
