Case study
In Case 2 Bang & Olufsen we can see there are some main issue on this case. One of this issue is that this company is a creativity and their product always have unique design. But Bang& Olufsen company’s product are televisions, audio systems, loudspeakers, telephone, and other product. Design of the product is always the most important, but the price and the production of those product was not a huge amount, it was only enough of few people’s demand. And if the company want more profit, the production is a problem. And in other ways if the company was increasing their product production, they will lose some customer who want buy unique product. And for Bang& Olufsen who was famous of product design, the company claim they never employed in-house designers. But company was not basic on research in the field electronics.it was combining the new technology and unique design to creative their product. So designer and engineer both was important for the company.

There are some suggestion of those issues. The company would increasing their customer group, because their customer were an elite group. To influence other customer to become a luxury for electric goods. And make more and more people was know this brand. So person ideal, company should have a group of designers and use funds to buy the unique design which was create by others who was not the employee of the company.

Post work
For Bang& Olufsen company there the main issues is the product is stand on a high price and those products are for who discuss taste and quality before price. And now Bang & olufsen do not only produce product such as video, TV. audio systems, loudspeakers, telephone, they were try to do their audio systems with other company like outsourcing for others who need audio systems. And there also some company was buy their products such as Benz. So according to this ideal Band & Olufsen could not employed so much designers, they could only do outsourcing there

When we were in the very beginning of our product life cycle, at product design, our team did not consider the implications of designing a complex airplane with a small staff and little time. While we did use concurrent engineering by having each team member participate in both the design and engineering activities, we did not concern ourselves as much as we could have with the manufacturability and value engineering aspect. For example, by reducing the complexity of our product, our end result may have been much more successful causing us to achieve a larger profit. We utilized a repetitive process that allowed us to recreate the same airplane and parts over and over again without having to customize any significant features. The only piece of customization we did offer was marketing the name of our buyer on the side of the airplane, which was a small customization feature that did not adversely affect the speed or capacity of our process. Our team could have also conducted a better value analysis. While producing our product,…

First, HP maintained its focus on the market. During the World War II, HP’s strategy of only focus on “building a group of complementary products rather than becoming involved in a lot of un related things” reduced the damage to the company after the war ends. Otherwise, it may not survive when facing a 50 percent decline in revenue. Meanwhile, as a high-tech venture focus on innovation products, HP's design engineers find the needs of customer by determining whether the product met the needs of fellow engineer sitting at the next bench within the company rather than depending on market research. It helped HP understand its market’s needs and was a successful approach in HP’s early day.…

Bang & Olufsen is one of the oldest manufacturers of home entertainment in the world. It is a Danish company and the products are often seen as synonymous with good design of technology based products. The technology itself is rarely groundbreaking but the quality of materials and the user interfaces are second-to-none. Being possibly the only manufacturer that produces its own audio and video products “under the one roof” has given Bang & Olufsen a huge advantage in the area of audio/video integration. The company itself is very small, employing fewer than 3000 people in its research and development, manufacturing and marketing divisions. Most retailing of the product is carried out through an independent dealer network. The product range is small and the prices are generally seen as high. The company has won innumerable design awards and its products appear in the industrial design collections of museums all over the world. That it has managed to survive at all is testament to the clarity of the vision laid down by its founders in 1925 – that quality was to be the driving force behind everything that the company does. Bang & Olufsen (Australia) Pty Ltd is a wholly Australian owned and independent agent for Bang & Olufsen in Denmark and has been since the mid sixties.…

For EU Design, quality of product is not an issue at the present time. The company is ISO 9000 certified with SA8000 accreditation. However, growing into a larger company requires a more formal management style to ensure this quality is kept up to standard. EU Design needs to develop a mission statement and corporate vision for the employees to have a common goal as a move toward a more formal management style. Without a defined mission statement, employees will have their own ideas of the company’s goals. Once a mission statement and business strategy is established, EU Design needs to identify which performance metric is most essential to the continued growth of the company.…

Abstract: OXO International represents an example of a great company built upon a creative product concept. This mindset can also be observed within the company’s strategy and sourcing relationship. One aspect of the Bose strategy, in addition to market expansion, is the addition of components that could complement its products. Bose seems to rise to the occasion and take the responsibility of delivering high-quality audio by producing other parts that are included in a stereo system. In the area of supplier relations, it appears that Bose prefers to be self-reliant. The company’s main concerns are the congruence of priorities and agendas between itself and its suppliers and whether the suppliers can grasp the needs of its organization. Bose truly seems to put its passion before its business and questions whether or not businesses conduct themselves with the same mantra.…
