SYLLABUS

I. Title: EXPERIMENTS WITH MORE THAN TWO GROUPS

II. DESCRIPTION This chapter is focus at two additional types of designs, the multiple-group design and factorial design. The insights about this designs will contribute a large value in terms of helping AB Psychology Majors to understand how these two designs work, when they are being used, and there importance in conducting experiments. This chapter will also tackle the advantages and disadvantages of these designs.

III. OBJECTIVES * To understand experiments with more than two groups. * To know the strength and weaknesses of multiple group design. * To know the strength and weaknesses of factorial design. * To learn how to choose a between-subjects design. * To apply the mission, vision and goal of this school to this chapter under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and St. Arnold Janssen.

Alpha will turn green on the plate because the bacterium is outcompeting the body for oxygen because there is an iron binding site. Beta hemolysis is cellular death which means that when it is present in the body it is releasing an acidic byproduct or a basic byproduct which will crush the structure of the blood cells. Alpha outcompetes with the blood for oxygen while beta hemolysis kills the competition for blood. Both result in the bacterium obtaining more oxygen for replication. Yes.…

For a potential researcher, choosing the correct research design is essential in the battle to control variables. Because without controlling for variables, a researcher is not able to make inferences about cause/effect relationships. Correlation does not imply causation is the all-important rule that any psychology undergraduate would be able to tell you. However, some research designs can be used in the absence of some variable control measures and still implying correlational relationships.…

How to enhance generalizability of results of a single case design: The procedures for use with a single subject can be replicated with other subjects, greatly enhancing the generalizability of the results. Reports of research that employs single case experimental procedures do present the results from several subjects and often in several settings. The tradition in single case research has been to present the results from each subject individually rather than group data and to present overall means.…

The design chosen for this research was a pretest-posttest design, the quasi-experimental design, for answering the research problem, “Does crossing the leg during blood pressure measurement effect on the patient’s blood pressure reading?” Crossing the leg is the manipulation, as the independent variable, and the patient’s blood pressure is the dependent variable. This design is appropriate for this research problem because it is the method available for testing the hypothesis of cause-and-effect relationships between two variables in this study (Polit & Beck, 2012).…
