Hallucinations vs. dillusions
Hallucinations-false perceptions having no relation to reality and not accounted for by any exterior stimuli. Delusion- Acute, reversible state of disorientation and confusion without drowsiness. DT’s- hallucinations, tremors, seizures, elevated BP & Pulse Tardive Dyskineasia- from neuroleptic meds, antipsychotic drugs (Haloperidol, fluphenazine, trifluoperazine)-facial grimacing, tongue thrusting, jaw swinging, repetitive chewing. Psychotropic drugs- antidepressants, sedatives, stimulants

DSM axis- for classifying mental health disorders
Suicide- at risk white men > 75
Anxiety symptoms- increased pulse & BP, respirations, dyspnea, hyperventilating, diaphoresis, lightheaded, blurry vision, anorexia, N& V, insomnia, dilated pupils, sweaty palms, pacing. Treat with SNRI’s (Effexor, Cymbalta) Antianxiety meds, psychotherapy, relaxation therapies. Bipolar is mood disorder, experience mania & depression. Increased energy, restless, grandiosity, irritable, grandiosity (belief in ones powers or abilities) Treat with antidepressants, mood stabilizers, psychotherapy & electroconvulsive therapy. Impulse control disorders (manias) pleasurable activities sex, substance abuse, shopping sprees. Antiparkinsons meds- psychotropic drugs cause symptoms. Caused by depletion of dopamine in CNS. Dopaminergic drugs!!! Amantadine, Selegiline, Levodopa combined to help levodopa reach brain. CNS stimulants for ADHD- Analeptics, caffeine, modafinil, amphetamines, anorexiants. Neuro

Parkinsons symptoms- muscle rigidity, bradykinesia (slow movement) or akinesia (Changes in posture) and tremors. Meds, pallidotomy (destructive lesion placed in basal ganglia) Deep brain stimulation, stem cells in brain. Stroke ischemic vs. hemerrohagic . Ischemic- occurs when the blood supply to brain is blocked or significantly slowed. Hemorrhagic when rupture of cerebral blood vessel.
