Who Is The Protagonist In Looking For Alaska

Looking for Alaska is about a boy named Miles Halter who is trying to find his Great Perhaps in a boarding school in Alabama. Miles met new friends in boarding school and a girl named Alaska Young who he then began to like/love her. The most important part of the story has to do when Alaska dies and Miles finds himself in the middle of trying to figure out if Alaska ever liked him like he did. Miles also is caught in figuring out his Great Perhaps after Alaska’s death. Alaska Young is a character in the story who has a very strong, deep, thoughtful personality. Her name explains who she is “ That which the sea breaks against,” which means the sea hitting the rocks but personality she was out of control, a rebel. She in other words had a very deep side of her she was very closed about her personal life. She didn't open much about what happened to her parents not until she confessed one day about what happened to her mom with Pudge and Colonel. She had mentioned she had seen her mom die in front of her eyes and she couldn't do anything about it her father blaming her for her mothers dead. Which this then leads to why she does not have a great relationship with her father because he constantly reminds her of her being guilty. As a result of her mother’s death, Alaska becomes submersed in guilt and blame, and these emotions drive a lot of
It was absolutely something different, different in what I normally read. I liked how the authors purpose was understood through out the entire book. My only issue with the book was Alaska’s ending like I did not like it at all what so ever it left me wondering what happened. The fact that she received a call and ran out which then lead to her death was something I did not see. That was my only down fall of this book but besides that this book I would rate it a
