Tristan and Isolde

Love is an uncontrollable force in that once it has fallen upon the heart of a man or woman, it is unfair to hold them responsible for there actions amongst each other or those in which they attempt to reach one another. To analyze how responsible both Tristan and Isolde are for there love affair and their actions in it, one must not judge the course of there actions as a single entity or couple, but rather look at each persons case individually. I say this because before the accident occurred when they drank the love potion they were in very different states of mind. Each had very different feelings and opinions for the other pertaining to character, physical attraction, and so on.

The Love potion that both Tristan and Isolde drink upon the ship in which they are headed for Cornwall makes it very obvious that the two "victims" are helpless against the force pulling them together. It is only moments before consuming the Queens potion that Isolde is confessing her hatred and disgust for Tristan to him. Isolde is filled with many emotions pertaining to her sorrow for leaving her kingdom with the very man who was responsible for the death of her uncle and who upon victory in that duel, sent Marolds body, severed head and arm back to Isolde and her family. Astonishingly though is that once the love for him takes over her, this incident never again crosses her mind in the presence of Tristan. For this strength that the potion has on Isolde, the capability to dispatch of her hatred and fill that spot with complete desire and infatuation of him rids her of any responsibility for the situation that arises between her and Tristan and her and Lord Mark. For she desires nothing more at this point in time than to be by Tristan's side. For it is in each and every quandary in which Mark is engulfed in jealousy and anger that Isolde is simply side by side with her love Tristan.

Tristan's feelings for Isolde are very different from hers prior to

Romeo and Juliet had met at a party at Juliet 's home and fell in love instantly. After that night there was nothing that would keep them apart. When they had met they knew nothing about who their parents were. Or anything else about them for that matter just that they were truly in love. Later that night Juliet had asked her nurse about the beautiful boy she had just met and now loves. She quickly learns that he is a Montague but to her it doesn 't matter. "My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is tome That I must love a loathed enemy." (Shakespeare 1020) From that night on Romeo and Juliet would do anything to be with one another again. In the same way with Bonnie and Clyde. These two had met in West Dallas and it was also love at first sight. The two were soon causing mischief, robbing, and killing everything in sight. Bonnie loved Clyde so much though she wasn 't willing to risk losing him, so she tagged along for everything. "She apparently justified her criminal activities because she did not want to leave her man 's side. She would stay with him no matter what." (The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.) Bonnie would sneak around with Clyde just as Romeo and Juliet. This loves should have never existed either because it was doomed from the start. A life or such crime could only end…

Romeo and Juliet should have known that they couldn’t keep their marraige a secret forever, and there would be worse consequences if their parents found out that they were in love. Also, Juliet could have told her father the honest reason why she did not want to marry Paris. If she did not decide to drink the potion,…

I don't believe any person or occurrence is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. I think the combination of fate, history, circumstance, and personality were what killed them. In terms of history and circumstance we must remember that marriages were arranged back in the sixteenth century. This is a really important point to consider because the lovers rebel against their custom. In my opinion this is a major cause of their deaths.…

Viewers might also look at the play as in the Montague’s and Capulets could have caused their own kids death. The Capulets wanted Juliet to marry Paris which caused commotion because Juliet wanted to marry Romeo. The Capulets also threatened to never see her again if she didn’t marry Paris. This also pushed Juliet into drinking the potion so that she wouldn’t have to marry Paris so she could disguise her own death. This also could have been caused by Romeo and Juliet bringing it on themselves. They rushed into marriage and are from two family feuds. They should’ve both just ran away but instead they stayed in Verona and let Friar help them with their…

Many untimely and unfortunate events led up to these deaths. One being, lord Capulet’s inability to be an affectionate father, unnecessary deaths, and finally the Friars’ inability to execute plans. Though all these had great affects on the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, fate is ultimately to blame for the deaths.…

Romeo falls in love too easily and if he took things slower, he and Juliet would have never married. A few days after Romeo and Juliet meet, Lord and Lady Capulet tell Juliet that she has to marry Paris. If Romeo would not have fallen in love so quickly he and Juliet could have taken things slower, that way when Juliet got the news she had to marry Paris, she would not have went to see Friar Lawrence to get the potion to make her fall asleep, so that her and Romeo could be together. This proves Romeo is responsible because Juliet said she didn't want to get married unless Romeo truly loved her, and if Romeo said he wanted to slow down, he and Juliet would have never married, and ultimately never commited suicide.…

The Nurse and Friar Lawrence are admirable characters because they are respectively stronger parental figures to Romeo and Juliet than their actual parents. This seems to be evident because Romeo and Juliet’s parents are nasty to them, so actually pretty much anybody would be considered stronger parental figures. This is also true because both Romeo and Juliet are comfortable talking to The Nurse and Friar Lawrence about anything and they care for Romeo and Juliet as well. And finally, this is accurate because Romeo and Juliet are able to share their secrets with The Nurse and Friar Lawrence; in particular their secret marriage. Thus, the Nurse and Friar Lawrence are stronger parental figures to Romeo and Juliet than their actual parents.…
