“the Internet Is the Most Wonderful Thing for Our Life”. to What Extent Do You Agree or Disagree with This Statement?
No one can deny the fact that the Internet is the most important invention ever. More and more people are gaining the ability to access the Internet by a home computer and a modem. It also plays a strong role in business, education, and entertainment. Some even said that the Internet is making the world smaller as it brings people together. But have you ever wondered whether the Internet can be the most wonderful thing of our life or not?
The main advantage of the Internet is that communication is made very easy. Two people on opposite sides of the world can communicate with each other via such things as video conferences or online chat. There are many “chat rooms” on the web that can be accessed to meet new people, make new friends or stay in touch with your old friends and families. This would save money as none of us has to take flights to other countries or make long phone calls. But the most popular good point about the Internet is that it provides e-mail. By a touch of a button, you can send and receive instant electronic emails. This definitely has its advantages over postal mail since it’s totally free and the senders can save a lot of time. We can also send our letters or invitations to multiple recipients instead of writing them for hundreds of times. Moreover, the Internet is a virtual treasure which provides us with unlimited source of information. You can find anything that is in your interest simply by logging on to Internet search pages like Google or VinaSeek. Students can also study English as well as other subjects online, which is quite effective and economical. On the Internet, there are also many online stores that can be used to look for products as well as buy them using your credit card. This makes life very easy for disabled people or people with busy lives who have no time to go shopping. Moreover, many good software, great music, movies can be downloaded for free.
However, for every plus there is a minus. The Internet does hold a lot of

Even though the internet invented just few decades ago, it becomes part of the human life today. Without the internet, the human life seems impossible or insufficient. The internet has thousands of advantages, but it also has some disadvantages. It allows individuals to communicate each other more easy and fast. For example, people send e-mail across the world just for a second; they can chat and see each other through the Skype or any other messenger regardless of the distance. Also, it allows people to increase their knowledge because they can find any types of information from the internet. Therefore, people can study in the U.S University even though they are living in other country. Nowadays, lots of universities offer online study for the international student. In addition, the internet allows people to save time. For example, people do not have to go department store or mall to buy something; they can buy that from online shops. Before we get onto the positive effects of internet use, let’s start with these much touted negative side effects. The naysayers would have us believe that the internet prevents us from interacting on a face to face basis and destroys old fashioned pursuits of writing letters and speaking on the phone; people even meet their spouses online these days! With business and finance now handled online we’re also far too dependent on the internet and would be at a loss should it break down. With the internet in our pocket we’re now never ‘disconnected’ and are at our boss’ beck and call 24 hours a day. Our bank cards are also more susceptible than ever to fraud and theft… And through all this we’re getting addicting and neglecting our real relationships, stuck inside in a more and more hermit like existence. They also say that sitting in front of a computer prevents us from getting outside and basking in fresh air and instead gives us repetitive strain injuries, hunched over spines and square…

Perceived Benefits of the Internet to Culture and Society The benefits of the Internet that are mentioned most frequently are its perceived benefits as a means to information, communication, commerce, entertainment, and social interaction. These are all functional aspects of the internet: most of its applications and services have been designed explicitly to serve such functions, and many people that the Internet successfully performs these functions. In addition, the Internet has been claimed to have benefits that are less intentional: benefits to individual development and cultural understanding, particularly. The following list of major perceived benefits is suggestive but not exhaustive: 1. Access to information. The Internet makes a vast amount of information available, from a plurality of information sources, and makes it continuously available, more or less independent of time and place. Adequate information is of major importance to the successful functioning of (modern) individuals, and therefore any enhancement of the ability to acquire or access information can be seen as a great benefit to society. 2. Information spreading. The Internet makes it possible for anyone to quickly, easily and inexpensively post and disseminate information and make this information available to a large audience. In this way, the Internet promotes freedom of speech by enhancing the ability of individuals to voice opinions and inform and influence others, which can be considered a great benefit. 3. Communication. The Internet facilitates one-to-one, one-to-many and manytomany communication and enables users to communicate easily and inexpensively with a wide variety of individuals across the globe. Communication goes beyond the dissemination of information: it is a two-way process that allows for the expression of viewpoints, the creation of intimacy, and the coordination of actions. Because communication is so important to individuals, the Internet's enhancement of the power…
