There are some moments when killing can be justified, though it rarely is. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell the two main characters have the same mentality but different point of views on killing. Sanger Rainsford is an intelligent, professional “Big Game Hunter” that hunts a large variety of animals. General Zaroff is a sociopathic “Dangerous Game Hunter” that finds great interest in hunting human beings. In this story, Sanger Rainsford hunted animals which was proven rationalized where as General Zaroff hunted humans which was proven unjustified.…

In his essay Death and Justice, Edward Koch argues in support of capital punishment, he believes it is just and it saves lives. He successfully delivers an argument laced with true and vivid examples of unforgettable murderous events. His intended audience consists of the opposing voters and readers of the New Republic, the political magazine that published his essay. Prior to reading Edward Koch’s essay I was sure that I would disagree but it became clear to me that he is right. There are seven commonly held views against the death penalty that Koch argues against in his essay. In what follows I discuss a few of his arguments and show that the death penalty is the most viable approach to deal with convicted murderers.…
It is a personal choice to argue from so called moral grounds – but saying “it’s a personal choice” doesn’t lend one’s position inherent validity, for arguing from a secondary definition of morality can be a tricky business when your secondary definition of morality is at odds with and ignores the natural law that governs universal moral norms. To argue from a secondary position of morality as you implied you define it lends greater moral weight to the life of the murderer than to the lives of his victims…
Society tries to diminish situations that involve someone killing themselves or attempting murder to one person for no reason. But, when a situation arises like above, society makes sure that the world will know about an accomplishment concerning his/her act. Anymore, a person will try to give themselves a name and try to “fit” in for personal reasons. Therefore, some will try performing evil acts to justify themselves.…

My teacher then question why each of us choose their position, and many hands shot up in the air eager to answer. A student who believed in pro-death said that eradicating the criminal would teach society a lesson in not committing the crime, but this could not be farther from the truth in my opinion. Most people who are murders are often suffer mental disorders like Ted Bundy who suffered an extreme case of…

Murder is considered a serious crime in our country. The loosely defined term of murder implies that a person who kills another human being with intent is known as being the worst kind of violent crime we see in our society. Any unlawful killing requires that a living person be killed and it does not mean that the guilty person feels any hatred or spite in order to plan and execute the act of murder. Moreover, the destructive acts that end peoples lives are classified as homicides which include manslaughter and first and second degree murder. More important, the justice system has put different labels on such crimes, but it also allows room for criminals to get away with murder.…
