Bloomberg uses a proportional amount of emotional appeal to keep an audience with varying beliefs interested. He references the mosque building protests in our post 9-11 world to make an emotional appeal to the audience, which is a prime example of Aristotle’s pathos reasoning of argument. Bloomberg’s speech has the perfect balance of light-heartedness and thought-provoking depth. His speech does not lack personal emotion which makes it easy for his audience to pay attention.

He references the Federal Election Commission’s 2012 presidential race data which reveals ninety-six percent of campaign contributions from Ivy League faculty members were donated to Barack Obama.
