Personal Narrative: Life After Death
I always believed that there is life after death and that you need to live your life to the fullest because once is something taken from you then you will regret not having it. The commencement in 2005 by steve jobs moved many people. He says “ Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make big choices in life.” He had a really hard choice to make, either give up or keep pushing forward, but just like his says “ You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” Steve jobs had big visions and big ideas for this world. He speech spoke to many people and gave many people inspiration because he didn't give up and looked at the cup half full and not half empty. Steve jobs commencement was very meaningful and had a lot of heart to it. It really spoke to me when he said, “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.” , because he had passed away a couple years ago but he said he was very happy with his life and he …show more content…
When steve jobs passed away it was a huge devastation, but he said he lived his life how he wanted. Mark Twain once said, “ The fear of death follows from the fear of life, A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” , and I think Steve Jobs was prepared. Some people are scared of death because they don't know what comes after. I think there should be no fear when you're about to die. There are many perceptions on death and I love Oscar wilde's perception. “ Death must be so beautiful , to lie in the soft brown earth, with the grassess waving above ones head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no to-morrow. To forget life, to forget time, to be at peace.” - Oscar Wildes. As part of this conversation, I had told her about how I work as a nurse at a psychiatric based nursing home. This got her excited, because she previously worked as a psychiatric technician. Due to this, she proceeded to tell me some of her stories in regards to her time spent working. It was interesting to hear her stories, which were varied.
