Romeo rushes to ask the Friar to marry him and Juliet. The Friar then responds by saying “These violent delights have violent ends” (II.vi.9). In this quote, the Friar is telling Romeo that he is rushing his love and that it will end quickly and violently as well. A) Romeo and Juliet - After Juliet meets Romeo, she tells the Nurse to “Go ask his name. If he be married, / My grave is like to be my wedding bead” (I.iiiii.148-149). By saying that she would rather die than marry anyone else, it shows the immense amount of love Juliet has for Romeo.
B) Rosaline and Romeo - Romeo says “Out of her favor, where I am in love” (1.1.173). In this quote Romeo is talking about how Rosaline does not love him back. Paris and Juliet - While speaking to the Nurse and Lady Capulet about marrying Paris, Juliet says “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move. / But no more deep will I endart mine eye / Than your consent gives strength to make it fly” (I.iiii.103-105). In this quote, the Friar refers to Romeo as his student. This shows parental love because the Friar guides him. Nurse and Juliet - After Romeo tells the Nurse the message to send to Juliet, he offers her money but she responds by saying “No, really, I won’t take a penny” (II.iiii.187). This quote shows that the Nurse loves Juliet because she betrayed her house fore Juliet for no reward.
D) Benvolio and Romeo - Benvolio says that Romeo should go to the party so he can “Compare her face with some that I shall show, / And I will make thee think thy swan a crow” (I.iii.93-94). This shows that Benvolio is a friend because he wants the best for Romeo. Mercutio and Romeo - After Benvolio tells Mercutio about his Tybalt’s challenge, he responds by saying “a challenge, on my life / … any man that can write may answer a letter” (II.iiii.9-11). This quote shows how Mercutio is such a good friend, that he would risk his life for Romeo.
E) Tybalt - When Tybalt finds out Romeo is at their party, he rushes to Capulet. However, Capulet tells him to ignore him and Tybalt responds “It fits when such a villain is a guest. I’ll not endure him” (I.iiiii.84-85). Since Tybalt won’t ignore Romeo, it shows that he has love for his
