RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIOLOGY AND ECONOMICS
Sociology and economics are the branches of the social sciences .They have very close relationship. Economics deals with the economics activities of man which is also called science of bred and butter. Economics is the study of production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. Economics as concerned with material welfare of the human beings. Economics welfare is only a part of human welfare and it can be only sought only with the proper knowledge of social laws. It cannot go far ahead without the help of sociology and other sciences.              Sociology and economics are helpful to each other. Economics’ relationship are closely related with social activities as same as social relationship are also effected by economic activity. |

Carl Heinrich Marx|
Thus due to such relations, Thomas regarded economics as the branch of sociology which is known as economic sociology and is use to study economic process of the society. Some economists like Sam Bart, Max Weber, and Pareto have explained economic change as aspect of social change. According to them, the study of economics would be incomplete without understanding of human society. The society, it's structure, organization, it's institution, it's strength and witness Etc. are bound to effect economics activities of its people. On the other hand, according to Karl Marx, the social phenomena’s are determined by economic forces .And social reality or social change can be explained in terms of economic forces.          According to Karl Marx, the infrastructure of society is nothing but the economic relations among it's people are something. |

Now the area of co-operation between sociology and economics is becoming wider. Economists are now analyzing the social factors influencing economic growth. Economists are now more and more making use of the sociological concept and generalizations in the study of economics problems. Besides there are certain social economic problems of greater importance to be studied by both economist and sociologist. The problems like poverty, unemployment, overpopulation etc. have both social and economic implications.

            DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SOCIOLOGY AND ECONOMICS

In spite of interdependence of those two sciences, they are quite distinct from each other .The main differences between them are given below. * Sociology studies all kind of social relationship whereas economics deals with only those social relationships which are economic in character. * Sociology is a general science but economics is special science. * The scope of sociology is wider and has comprehensive view points; the scope of economics is narrow. * Sociology is abstract in nature and social variables are very difficult to measures and to quantity. Economics is concrete in nature and its variable can be measured and quantified mare easily and accurately.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIOLOGY AND OTHER SOCIAL SCIENCES
Sociology deals with society [people]; how people interact, their culture, norms, values just like other social sciences like psychology, economics, psychology which also deal with people and how they behave, their mental processes. There is also a relationship between sociology and economics which is another social science. Economics deals with the production of goods and services and how they are distributed to people just like sociology which also considers how the goods are distributed to members of the society.

Sciences related to sociology are social sciences. Social science are sciences which deal with people and have the following characteristics; observable, measurable, practical, factual.

Psychology and sociology link on that they all deal with the behavior of people, psychology deals with the behavior of people and their mental process just like sociology which also seek to understand how people's behavior affect society.

Anthropology and sociology also deal with society but the only difference is that social anthropology mainly considers small states and their culture but their area of studies is basically the same.

Sociology and political science are also related in the sense that they both concern the welfare of people in a society. Political science basically deals with the distribution of power and the exercise of power, democracy, dictatorship, and communism, how people vote etc.

History is another social science which is related to sociology. History primarily deals with past events and how they affected society e.g. how the colonization of Africa underdeveloped Africa. Sociology on the other end will be concerned with how people interacted, how culture was affected etc. during the colonization and the present. Geography can also be a social science which deals with society just like sociology. The population studies, demography, health and environment are all geographical studies which deal with society which are also inter-related to sociology as a field of study.

Demography is the study of the population. All aspects of sociology are studied by demographers. Demography goes hand in hand with sociology, providing empirical data on which sociologist build theories. Economics can be considered to be a highly complex branch of Sociology making it difficult to identify a relationship between the two without having knowledge of both disciplines. Economics focuses on wealth, trade, consumption behavior patterns, et cetera and even involve some complex models rooted in the discipline of Mathematics.
