In the book, No Promises In the Wind, Josh had some experiences dealing with adult responsibilities. When Josh left home with Howie and Joey he did not have people to help and take care of them. He did not have someone to help him get food, and needed to get money on his own. He had plans of how to get money when Howie was alive, but after he died he did not know how. He had no choice but to find a job, a place to stay, and learn how to get food for both Joey and him. My mother got really sick for about a week and could barely even stand up. Since she was not able to, I played the mother's role and it was challenging. One challenge I needed to face was looking after my little sister. I fed her, changed her clothes, helped her with her homework, made her feel better when she was upset, and put her to bed. I was also supposed to help my brother with his homework and make his breakfast, but he was not as challenging because he is older and more mature. In addition to all that, did my chores and took care of my mother. I was very busy and overwhelmed taking care of my siblings, mother, and myself. That week of playing an adult’s role made me realize how grateful I am to have a mother who takes care of me in the same way I took care of
