My experience in the Corps of Cadets has been the most rewarding. The Corps is the closest you can get to living and breathing Texas A&M. It molds you into a person you didn’t think possible. We all look back to our former selves and can’t help but chuckle. In high school, I was naive. I thought math was my strongest subject. Surely, I was ready for college and the rest of the world. My plan was to join the Corps so I could get the highest paying job. All for me. Also, I wanted to be challenged. Fortunately, I got a challenge and some. It didn’t take me long to figure out that math wasn’t my strongest subject. Indeed, balancing schoolwork and the stress of the Corps was a dangerous duo. Consequentially, it did push me to a stronger person,

Since I’ve been at Job Corps, the food has been almost always an issue. Many times the food is downright terrible. The food is either bland, burnt, or not cooked all the way. The rare times when the food is good, it is not in enough quantity to make sure everyone gets it.
Sometimes after eating the breakfast I become sick. I cannot imagine you are aware of the food issues. I would ask that you to keep a close watch on how the food is prepared and make sure it is well-seasoned.
Reveille, Reveille!” reverberated the disembodied voice throughout the barracks. As my eyes shot open, I squinted at my watch and read the time: it was three o’clock in the morning. Sighing, I clambered out of my bunk and prepared for another day of physical and mental torment. Even though I was unaware at the time, the intense environment that I was subjected to while attending the Cadet Leadership Course would push my confidence and leadership ability to new heights.
Despite it being summer vacation….
which might serve as evidence to my growth from a child to an adult; however, no such challenge or triumph was greater than my graduation from Cadet Officer School, a strategic leadership school held at Maxwell Air Force Base. Cadet Officer School’s purpose was to act as the “finishing school” for Cadet Officers, but behind the education was a life changing experience which caused myself to think critically about what I wanted in life and where I was going.
The Cadet Officer School curriculum included….
I am currently involved in the 872 Kiwanis Air Cadet Squadron, a vibrant youth program with aims to improve youth leadership, promote physical fitness and active citizenship within the program. While at Syracuse University, I have had the opportunity to grow while being able to give to a community that has welcomed me. I have been working with the Literacy Corps for almost two years and it has enabled me to augment my skills in leadership, communication and in becoming an overall better person and professional. Literacy Corps is a program that allows students at Syracuse University to dive in first hand with the community, and work with local schools in the Syracuse area. As a tutor, I have….
lessons provided were things I either had my parents teach me, I learned from my life experiences or I’ve absorbed from academics and mentors. I chose to pick out the three sections that I felt are prevalent currently and in my near future. Many civilians, especially extended family and friends, have no way of comprehending the level of life experiences I have had in the Marine Corps. I would not have been the same person or had the same level of experiences and responsibilities if I had not chosen….
helping others shouldn't be something seen as duty or mandatory, it should be spontaneous. Through others experiences and hardships we learn and grow as human beings, not only did I enjoy helping others but I felt that it helped me with my problems. Having moved around so much and meet so many people and living by myself so many years I came to truly be thankful for my blessings and specially for my hardships. Hermann Hesse once said, "I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or….

My mother said it was okay to stay with my God-Mother and go to school. As the school year started and I was ready to start my freshman year at Leake Central High School. My freshman year of high school was very hectic but I was new so it didn’t bother me as much. Overall, my freshman year was great. My sophomore year was the….
