When I was at a target I witnessed a scene where a child was begging for their parent to buy them some candy. The parent at first said no but once they realized the sad look on the child’s face and the fact they were about to cry they gave in and let them have the candy anyways. This scenario represents the permissive parenting style because permissive parents tend to give in, not want to hurt their kid’s feelings and try to be more of a friend than a parent, which in this scenario the parent gave in not wanting to hurt the kids feelings.
When I was at the mall I witnessed a mother and two kids come in that were around the ages of say 9 and 12 come by. The mother then told the kids “well were here, don’t bother calling me until its time to go”, she then proceeded to walk away leaving the children in a crowded mall where anything could happen. This scenario represents a neglectful parent, since neglectful parents tend to not care about what their children do, and in this scene the mother literally just left here kids in a mall to do whatever they please and told them not to call her. …show more content…
Before they could speak though, their mother grabbed their shirt and demanded the kid to go put the toy back and not letting the kid have a word in about the topic. This scenario represents an authoritarian parent because the kinds of parents tend to be strict and not give reasons for there actions, which are exactly what, happened her when the parent made a big scene just because the child picked up a
