Advocate for a POSITIVE Change
(A Personal Essay)

We Can Do Better If We Want To.

According to a famous author, “Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.” With this inspiring statement, I firmly believe that CHANGE starts in our MIND. Somehow, we have different beliefs and attitudes that either contributes to the change that we want or otherwise worsen the situation.

Nowadays, there are different kinds of people that exists other than those stated above. And I consider myself as the confident one. Change for me is a challenge, a challenge to innovate and take the risk for a better tomorrow.

Given the chance to start a significant change in the Philippines, It is but proper to say that I should start it within myself. I suppose that each one of us has the ability to do so for the betterment of our country. When one has the courage to make a change in the Philippines, one could attract other people to have the same vision. Yet, this is not an easy task. As what other people say, we cannot please everybody. It is similar to the fact that we could not bring everybody to where we are going, unless they see that we do it with great dedication and commitment. All we need to do is to let others have a positive mindset on everything, and the change that we want depends on how much we put ourselves to what we think should happen. When we are able to change ourselves, people would notice it. And definitely, when they notice the change within us, then they would possibly follow what we do in order to achieve change. Not just an ordinary change but a SIGNIFICANT and a POSITIVE one.
.
After all, I personally advocate for a positive change in the Philippines. It is for us to grab this chance and make a significant

Nice post. This inevitability of change is obvious to all. but the fear of change remains pervasive amongst almost all of us; This fear is what makes us remain constant, this fear is what makes an individual remain in a job or career that is not fulfilling rather than dare to try to change; this change is what actually makes us grow and become better but this same change inflicts worries and questions about the "what if's and the how about's"? Although the answers to all these questions may be unknown and even when they are known and answered change although granted to make us grow and become better still brings a level of apprehension that is inexplicable but necessary to advance us. The only thing that we have to do is agree to change…

I looked up and wondered for a while. In our present situation, it seems that it was only a joke to be in a government position because we think that politicians are corrupt. We never fully entrust our politicians that they are capable of changing our status quo, alleviating poverty in our country. Sometimes, I believe it too. But who would stand up for our country if every citizen of its own accepted the “fact” that it could not be developed anymore? Hence, I dreamt of rendering my service for my fellow Filipinos who also aspire that our nation could be a better place. I wanted to be a part of this change after I graduated college. But then, I realized I could already be a part of it even I am a student. Hence, I wanted to be an Iskolar ng Bayan and be admitted in the University of the Philippines. I always see them in social media posting and giving their insights about the social issues in our country. They always stand on their principles and try to fight for it. They are not afraid to express themselves and shout out their voices. I wished for being a part of this community so I took the college admission test of the university last August, hoping to pass the examination. Someone snapped his finger in front of me, my conscience of reality was back again. I needed to study for our final…

President Benigno C. Aquino III, commonly known as PNoy,made changes across many aspects of the Filipino’s national life. Although, he inherited huge anomalies from the past administration of former president-now congresswoman, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, he didn 't lose hope to uplift the present situation of ordinary Filipinos. He delivered his achievements in each of his State of the Nation Address which glued the entire Filipino people who listened to him on television, they be in their homes, offices and other places. He reported many things, little and great alike that were achieved during the previous years that made every sane, concerned and responsible Filipino to once again, feels the…

The world changes from time to time. And change isn’t bad. People have to cope up with the modernization that is prevalent all over the world. We Filipinos must also be competitive to other races. We have to take part in the competition that is going on out there in the open for us not to be left behind and not to be called “idiots” and ignorant. In order to achieve these, we have to start changing the traditional ways into a more modernized system and it should start in any institution within our society – be it within the family, church, school, government and even in non-government or private organizations.…

    How to Help Our Country

“TWELVE (12) LITTLE THINGS EVERY FILIPINO CAN DO TO HELP OUR COUNTRY,” by Alexander Ledesma Lacson, may be a “voice in the wilderness”; but as Fr. Rueben Tanseco, S.J. what Alex proposes are “very concrete, practical and doable” actions for us ordinary Filipinos. And the best part is that these 12 things don’t need to be debated upon by our congressmen and senators, reviewed by a bicameral conference committee and finally signed by the President before they can be part of the laws of the land, which may or may not be complied with because our Supreme Court can “TRO” the whole thing; and it may take time to resolve the issue, which then would still be the subject of a possible motion for reconsideration.…
