When opening a franchise in a new countries, you must consider a language, and cultural training, this would be for all the staff that would be hired or transferred to a new country for work. The training program would need to focus on how intercultural business communication would affect your business. My training program would be comprehensive and well-rounded. You would want to create a lesson plan to include High and low- context language, nonverbal communication and what could be taboo in some countries. There are over 311 languages, and dialect that are spoken currently in the United States today (Course Smart, 2015). To be successful in communication, you must keep the language diversity in mind and try to eliminate the confusing communication as much as portable with your employees. Hall and Hall have researched the concept of high- and low-context language (1990) (Course Smart, 2015). In High context language, it can transmit with every little explicit type message. In fact, the nonverbal cultural of what is not verbalized is what’s important. For example in some countries like Chinese and Latin America, you must read the lines and silence is what id often communicate in high context cultures (Course Smart, 2015). In the countries with Low context type language, this culture the verbiage is explicit. This may be spoken in more the way so to ensure the receiver has understanding in low-context languages, a person states what is expected or wanted. High-context languages tend to be indirect and nonverbal, whereas low-context languages tend to be direct and verbal (Course Smart, 2015). Some items to be aware of in China is that they consider leaving chopsticks in a bowl vulgar, always lay them on a plate next to your bowl. In China, the people do not say thank you after complements. It is very common when

    The barriers to intercultural communication and the solving approaches Although intercultural communication is highly thought of, the barriers in the intercultural communication area still exist owing to three aspects cultural identity, national cultural dimensions and individual intercultural competence. To analyse the reasons for these barriers and approach these issues are essential. Intercultural communication is defined as a form of communication that aims to share information across different cultures and social groups. However, the definition of cross-cultural business communication is more specific, it emphasizes the need to meet with overseas clients, cope with an ethnically different workforce, negotiate contracts in another language or take a job at an organization with a radically different corporate culture (Daphne A. Jameson,2007). Nowadays, more and more people and firms pay great attention to the intercultural business owing to globalization. Though international business has developed and with it efforts to understand intercultural communication, people continue encountering barriers when they develop cross-cultural communication. The receivers cannot understand the exact meaning of the speakers, people have less access to knowledge about others complex cultural makeup than about their own, people dont know the borderline between the vulnerability spectrum and the security spectrum (Ting-Toomey, 2005 p.230). That consequence derives from two aspects the macroscopic aspect and the microcosmic aspect. The macroscopic aspect involves the identity of culture and the dimensions of other national culture. The microcosmic aspect aims to emphasize the significance of individual intercultural competence.
