Subtext-The phrases “I am a woman phenomenally” and “Phenomenal woman thats me” give the poem sub-text.Although the nararrator is not physically beautiful her inner qualities give her all the beauty she needs to be phenomeanl.

Title-By reading the title you get an idea of what the poem is about. And as you read the poem you make the connection to the title and why it is important to the literal and bigger meaning of the poem.

Aha!-I could musically talk about the poem because it carries of song like flow.Because the poem can be so easily read itt can be sung to a rhythm and sound great. I would say the song carries a nice tempo and when sung the meaning can still get across in the same way as the poem .As a song I think the poem would be likable in the same sense the poem is .
The song would go like this:

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit or fashion-model size.
When I start to tell them,
They think I'm tellin' lies.
I say, "It's in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride to my steps,
The curl of my lips."

I'm a woman – Phenomenal woman.
I'm a woman. Baby, that's me.
I walk into a room Just as cool as you please
And to a man they will stand
And fall down on their knees.
When they swarm around me
Like a hive of honey bees,
I say, "It's in the fire in my eyes,
The flash of my teeth,
The swing of my waist,
The joy in my feet."

It's in the arch of my back,
