We would like to extend an invitation to attend the launch of the Inner City Collaborative Project. The purpose of the meeting is to consider ways in which we can work together on the major issues impacting the city. The topics will include transportation, crime, inner city housing, and public education.
The event will be held at the Residence Inn Hotel located at 1440 South White Oak Drive, Waukegan, IL 60085 on Thursday, May 16 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will continue on Friday, May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Food will be provided both days: lunch on May 16, 2013 and breakfast on May 17, 2013.
We would also like to announce our guest speaker, Dr. Peter Sigman, who has been working with inner-city issues for over 15 years. He will be joining us on Thursday, May 16, 2013, through a videoconference, to share his expertise in the matters at hand.
As you all know, this project will take approximately one year and the recommendations from our task force will go to the mayor for action. Our main focus in this event is to develop a mission statement and to establish goals.
