The play is getting better as we go on I feel cause we are getting a better feeling of what the characters are really like. There are a couple characters like Macbeth and Lady Macbeth who have changed a lot. I feel like Macbeth is getting in so far that he has nothing to lose in a sense. I feel like he either has to keep killing to try not to be caught, or be caught. I have a feeling the way things are going he is gonna spill the beans and get caught. Once the exposition is established by the witches’ famous dialogue, “Fair is foul, and foul is fair” (I. i. 10), the reversal moral order is introduced as the theme of the play. This incident precedes the introduction of the diverse belief of both Macbeth and Banquo concerning the witches. Although Macbeth questions the witches’ prophecies in the beginning, he still maintains a flicker of hope that the prophecies are true. Macbeth’s belief in the witches’ predictions reveals to the audience that Macbeth is a credulous character. It only takes favourable prophecies for him to become convinced. Subsequently, an additional way that the visions and ghosts that Macbeth comes across represents his own perplexity and internal guilt, comes about in Act III, Scene IV (Shakespeare et. al. 220) after Macbeth has prearranged the assassination of his friend Banquo. Macbeth notices the ghost of Banquo sitting in Macbeth’s place at the banquet. Seeing that no other person at the banquet is able to see the ghost of Banquo, its emergence appears to be a simple creation of Macbeth’s guilty mind, “Avaunt, and quit my sight! Let the earth hide thee” (Shakespeare et. al. 224). Macbeth utters this line to the ghost because he does not wish to see the ghost of Banquo, presumably because of the guilt that Macbeth feels for arranging the assassination of…

After Duncan’s murder Macbeth pulled himself away from many people or became distant, including Banquo and Lady Macbeth. Macbeth begins to resent Banquo because his children are seen to be Kings one day. Macbeth feels threatened by Banquo because he is paranoid that Banquo is the only one who knows about the witches and their prophecies. Macbeth decides the best way to take care of this is to have Banquo killed. “Know Banquo was your enemy.” This shows how Macbeth’s new enemy is Banquo. As the play goes on Macbeth becomes more isolated because of the guilt and paranoia of the murders. His isolation towards Lady Macbeth causes her pain. “How now, my lord, why do you keep alone.” This shows how Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are slowly separating. The conspiracy that many such as, Banquo, Lennox, and Malcolm created over Macbeth was due to Macbeth’s own actions, leading the kingdom to turn against him. His actions of mourning too much, and acting weird during meetings, causes many of his fellow thanes and other kings to start questioning him. Before going out on a ride, Banquo exclaims, “Thou hast it now: king, Cawdor, Glamis, all/ As the weyard women promised, and I fear/ Thou playd’st foully for’t.” (III, i, 1-3). Banquo realizes that the prophecy given to Macbeth, has suddenly come true, and he has everything he wanted. However, Banquo suspects that these titles were not given to him naturally, and he possibly killed King Duncan. Macbeth’s extraneous actions has led one of his closest friends to turn behind his back, and Banquo isn’t the only one. Lennox, a Scottish nobleman suddenly realizes that things aren’t quite normal after Macbeth sees the ghost at his meeting. He exclaims to a lord, “Things have been strangely borne. The gracious Duncan/ Was pitied of Macbeth, marry, he was dead:/ And the right-valiant Banquo walked too late,/ Whom you may say- if’t please you- Fleance killed,/ For Fleance fled: men must not walk too late.” (III, VI, 3-7). Lennox comprehends that people all over the kingdom were being murdered, and that Macbeth was unusually mournful. Additionally, they converse about how odd the suspected murderers are, King Duncan’s being his servants or his two sons and Banquo’s being his own son. Later, he learns that his suspicions are correct, that Macbeth did murder Banquo and Duncan, and in the end, is one of the soldiers going against…

As Macbeth rises to power he becomes obsessed with the idea of becoming king. When we see Lady Macbeth manipulating Macbeth's mind, she ensures that he would do anything in order to become king. This can symbolize the possibilities of Macbeth's dark side and his desire to do anything necessary to be powerful. As his ambition increases, the threat of Banquo comes to Macbeth's attention. Banquo's status as a contrast to Macbeth makes for some tense moments in the play. In act two, scene one, Banquo meets his son Fleance and asks him to take both his sword and his dagger ("Hold, take my sword ... Take thee that too"[14]). He also explains that he has been having trouble sleeping due to "cursed thoughts that nature / gives way to in repose!"[17] On Macbeth's approach, he demands the sword returned to him quickly. Scholars have interpreted this to mean that Banquo has been dreaming of murdering the king as Macbeth's accomplice in order to take the throne for his own family, as the Three Witches prophesied to him. In this reading, his good nature is so revolted by these thoughts that he gives his sword and dagger to Fleance to be sure they do not come true, but is so nervous at Macbeth's approach that he demands them back.[18] Other scholars have responded that Banquo's dreams have less to do with killing the king and more to do with Macbeth. They argue that Banquo is merely setting aside his sword for the night. Then, when Macbeth approaches, Banquo, having had dreams about…

I think that Banquo is suspicious of both Malcolm and Donalbain. I think he is suspicious of Malcolm and Donalbain because the two fled the castle as soon as they heard about their father’s death. Their action of fleeing brought commotion and wariness within the people. To many citizens, running means being guilty. I think that Banquo should pretend to stay loyal to Macbeth. I believe that if he is pretending to be loyal, Macbeth will not have any doubt towards Banquo. If Banquo does not stay loyal, Macbeth could most likely also kill Banquo to get him out of the way of potentially revealing Macbeth. I think that he should interrogate the two so that he could get answers on what really happened. It can also be a way for Malcolm and Donalbain…
