2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW.

Introduction.

This chapter contains the literature of the study that will link the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. Both theoretical and empirical literature review was conducted in order to establish the gaps which the study sought to address.
It makes efficient use of the advance technology and has ambition to discover more. Computers have the great impact on the profession of accounting and human resources.
Finally, this study aims to develop a reliable and manageable computerized payroll system for the contractual employee’s of Rumtec Engineering.

Technology.

Is the application of scientific innovation to industry.
The multi function ability of technology for its advance system is also an important factor for an institution to use software.
Sophisticated technology is well recognized for improving customer service, productivity and operational efficiency of firms in the telecommunications industry. For example, initially calculations of PAYE, NHIF, NSSF used to be very complicated.
As part of its action plan, Rumtec company has introduced a considerable degree of mechanization and computers in their operations.
The advancement of technology in its operations has made Rumtec to be more flexible towards dealing with its clients and suppliers. It also has greatly reduced the chance of error, fraud and default.
Advanced technology has reduced the total operation cost incurred by the company, interms of hiring and maintaining employees to do the many accounts and HR tasks, cost involved due to a lot of paperwork.
Cost of paperwork has also been reduced by the use of Electronic Data Interchange. This means payments and transfer of documents from one computer to another which have been interlinked can be done electronically.

The Calculations.

PAYE and NHIF amounts are both computed from tables provided by KRA and NHIF respectively.
