Kobe Bryant Compare And Contrast
All basketball fanatics argue about who’s the better basketball player Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant. They both are electrifying and captivating players to watch on the basketball court. Taking a closer look at the similarities and differences of Michael Jordan as well as Kobe Bryant needs more than fans bias and common assumptions. Most fans would say that Michael Jordan is the superior player. Meanwhile, younger fans choose Kobe over Michael. They both bring rare athleticism to the league, but the real question, who is the better player?
Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. Kobe Bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 23, 1978. Michael went to the the University of North Carolina and after his junior year went into the NBA. Kobe went to Lower Merion High School and went to the NBA after graduating high school. Michael was drafted in the 1984 NBA draft in round one and was pick number three. Kobe was drafted in the 1996 NBA draft in round one and was pick number thirteen. Both Kobe and Michael have two Olympic gold medals.

At the same time, Kobe fans say Michael would have never won those championships without Scottie Pippen. However, most people have forgotten that in the 1998 finals the Bulls won. This championship was special because Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman were injured due to their backs throughout the whole playoffs. Michael put the team on his back and led them to another title. This is something Bryant never did. A key example of Bryant’s failure was in the 2004 NBA finals when he had four future hall of famers on his team. In an attempt to take over, Kobe took too many unnecessary shots as he got shot down by the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons controlled the series, winning four games to one.
