Kobe Speech

Hall of Fame consists of legends of the past that will never be forgotten. As the president of the NBA, I would like congratulate Kobe Bryant as he’s been selected into the NBA Hall of Fame.
The Black Mamba is one of the deadliest, fastest, and most feared snake in the World today. That was the description of 6’7ft 210lb Kobe Bryant on the court since he joined the league right out of high school. His nickname tells it all and no man in today’s culture has been more polarizing: He is either loved or hated but all have an opinion: whether good or bad nobody can deny knowing his name and what he does. He has competed for more Championships than anyone still playing in the league and is known as the best finisher in the league. He takes pride in his craft and has produced even when wounded. Just like the most deadly snake, Kobe Bryant, aka “The Black Mamba” is the most feared player on the court. There is only one man in sports today that can lay claim to all of this and his name is none other than Kobe Bryant.

His superior fundamental skills and his willing-ness to take over the game has been his specialty. All Kobe’s career, he’s been having jaw-dropping performances. 81 point performance against the Toronto Raptors in 2006, second ALL time scoring performance behind Wilt Chamberlains 102 points. The Black Mamba had his first back-to-back championship rings in 2000 and 2002. Then went on with his second back-to-back feat with Pau Gasol 2008 and 2009. After getting swept in the playoffs by the Mavs in 2010, Kobe came back hungrier then ever… Winning the next 2 NBA championships to cap off his great

Well that is 100% true. The best way to get offense going is to get steals. Now since we are comparing Kobe to Lebron, who is better at getting steals? Kobe Bryant can be an assassin when manning the passing lanes. His anticipation of where the ball is headed next is not to be trifled with. Kobe loves to score as we all know that, so why would not want to force turnovers? Well like Bryant, James is tremendous at playing the passing lanes. Tough his on-ball defense is fabulous; he is one of the best off-ball defenders the game has to offer. The way James moves in and out of the paint, fighting over screens and never taking his eye off the ongoing play is nothing diminutive of extraordinary. It is also much more effective than Bryant 's desire of taking risks first and asking questions…

Following Michael Jordans footsteps again, Rose became the first NBA all-star on the Bulls since Jordan was named an all-star in 1998. Rose’s third season could be considered his most successful, one of his best games was on January 17 2011. I remember sitting upstairs at my house, wearing my cobalt blue Adidas DRose 2.5s, watching the Bulls play the Grizzlies. The whole game Derrick seemed to be controlling the court, he flew up and down the light colored hardwood finding many creative ways to put the little orange ball in the little orange hoop. Derrick finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, recording his first triple double. I was amazed by his performance and began to watch as many Bull’s games as I could, just to see him play. After more great performances Rose lead his Bulls team to a 62-20 record and Derrick won the NBA’s most valuable player award. At age 22 Derrick Rose was the youngest person to ever be named the MVP of the league, breaking a 47 year old record. When he won the MVP he inspired me by the way he overcame a hard situation to become one of the greatest athletes in the NBA and he also made me believe that if I worked hard like he did I could accomplish my…

Since a young age I have been a huge fan of basketball, and of course being from New York, I am a fan of the New York Knicks. The all-star player of the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony, played college basketball at Syracuse. The season of his freshmen year, Carmelo led his team to their first NCAA Championship. He also was awarded the Most Outstanding Player award. Soon after, the Denver Nuggets drafted Carmelo Anthony with the third overall pick. He then went on to achieve his dreams of playing in the NBA and has since been a nine time All-Star. Seeing how Syracuse helped Carmelo achieve his dreams, I had always wanted to go to Syracuse to pursue my dreams.…

1997-1998 the Lakers record was 61-21 and they lost the playoffs, Bryant still made it to the All-Star game that year. "At 19 years old, Bryant was coming off the Lakers' bench, but he impressed fans enough to be voted in as a starter on the All-Star team {he averaged 15.4 points in 26.0 minutes)'' (Kobe at 30—Oh, how the years go by) . 2005 –2006 season, Bryant had an average of 35.4 points per game; Bryant received the title “King of Scoring". 2006-2007 Bryant won the award of scoring champion (Kobe at 30—Oh, how the years go by). His mentality for greatness is off the charts and his passion for excellence is the passion that every player should have in the game or in any matter for that case. In his career, Kobe has an average of 83.8 percent from the free throw line, ahead of Jordan, and also a 34.1 percentage from beyond the three point line, which is also better than Michael Jordan's percentage (Drake Oz). A lot of people look at MVP awards and national championships to decide who is the best and things like that. Michael has 5 MVP titles while Kobe only has one, but they are overrated and misleading (Drake Oz). Kobe has had much better seasons than a lot of former winners of the MVP award. Example, in 2006, Steve Nash won the MVP of the league. Nash had a great year, but Kobe put up monstrous numbers and had a fantastic year with the Lakers. You cannot base the potential of greatness off of awards. Yes, they help your confidence and your reputation as a player in the league, but they do not define your greatness and ability that you may have to show. Michael has also won 6 championships and Kobe is only at five, but Kobe is most definitely not done playing either. The age-old argument against Kobe Bryant used to be that "he only won three titles because of Shaq. Well, fast forward to 2010, and Bryant has more titles (five) than Shaq (four) and was the star of those two teams while Shaq played second fiddle to Dwyane Wade. Not saying Bryant would have won all…

Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade speaks about the fatal shooting of his cousin Nykea Aldridge. In August 2016, we discovered that his cousin had been shot. Nykea was a mother of 4 and was only 32 years old. Wade says that Nykea was a quiet person and was always focused on her children, so to hear that she had been shot it was shocking to him. Donald Trump also spoke on Nykea’s death stating “Dwyane Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!” and Wade felt that his cousins death is basically used so that Trump would gain more votes. Wade also felt that he felt that if she were not his cousin her story would not be a national story, also he felt that they didn’t even reference her name in the stories. Wade also speaks about him and his children discussing police shootings and killing people. Wade hopes to one day become a voice that the city of Chicago can listen to and he hopes that he can bring the people to together.…
