William Shakespeare was and English poet and is considered to be the greatest playwright of all time by many. He invited hundreds of new words and phrases that we still use today. Shakespeare was born in 1564 and died at 52 in 1616. During his life he wrote 36 plays and 154 sonnets. Some of his many famous plays are ROMEO AND JULIET, HAMLET, AS YOU LIKE IT, THE TEMPEST and A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM. Shakespeare was well none for his plays and sonnets but he was also a passionate actor and he performed in many of his own plays.

Shakespeare died a very wealthy man with a large property portfolio, unlike most artists of his time. He was a brilliant businessman – forming a joint-stock company with his actors meaning he took a share in the company’s profits, as well as earning a fee for each play he wrote. Shakespeare’s death is a mystery but the life expectancy back them was lower than us so he died quite old.

Bubonic Plague also known as the Black Death was a very deadly disease that was carried in rats and fleas, which lived on the rats. The disease spread very quickly and it killed millions of people. The bubonic plague is the most common form of the plague, produces fist-sized swellings, called bulboes, at the site of flea bites (usually in the groin, neck or armpits) After receiving the plague the victim dies within 2 – 6 days. The bulboes aren’t too painful but they turn red and then to a dark purple or black which gives the name Black Death. As a result of the Plague wages and prices

rose and the standard living for laborers
rose accordingly but by mid 15th century
living standards lowered again.
