Google Ethics Analysis
This film is set in the USA, in close proximity to one of Google’s offices. The internship consists of a rich storyline which progresses from two main characters, Nick and Billy, having their business of selling watches shut down. The reasoning for this is that there has been a great decline in the sales of watches due to the fact that times have changed, with everyone having cellular devices that tell time there is simply no need for watches. These two characters specialize in sales. Apon failure of their watch selling business Nick finds another job working at a bedroom mattress dealership, working for his sister’s boyfriend. Ethics and Professionalism:

Ethics is a vitally important as it is the study of how personal values and principles are applied in a business situation. A lack of ethics could result in various consequences that could greatly affect the business financially in the long term. Ethics provide a moral compass to the human capital in the workplace.
Professionalism refers to the skill expected of human capital in the professional working environment. All business transactions and exchanges need to be carried in a professional manner to withhold the legacy of the business.

A lack of ethical behavior by a business could easily drive away investment from stakeholders and drive away customers – this is why in the long term business’ can be affected financially.

In ‘The Internship’ there is a clear lack of professionalism. Nick and Billy take their internship colleagues out to a strip club, this is highly unprofessional as it is highly detrimental to the company’s reputation (Google). Leadership is vital in ensuring that a team operation runs smoothly as this role inflicts drive to achieve the desired goal within a team. The leader handles problems and in theory should motivate other members within their team or group to ensure the mission is achieved.
