Facebook has become the most popular social networking engine in the world, Facebook has approximately 1.2 Billion Users Around the world. In 2012, 94 percent of teens ranging from the ages of 12 to 17 had a Facebook profile. With that in mind teens that have a Facebook Profile are exposed to Dangerous situations, problems with school, and can cause psychological issues. “I’ll just check it once more before I start,” Is something common most teenagers say before starting their school work or chores. Today text messaging is no longer the biggest teenager’s obsession. Today there is something called Facebook and it has become a teenager’s biggest obsession. According to (Multan, 2012)”In 2012, 94 percent of teens ranging from the ages of 12 to 17 had a Facebook profile. Excessive use of Facebook has been associated with greater narcissism in teens, as well as other psychological disorders such as such as mania. In addition, too much time spent on Facebook can cause anxiety and depression.” Excessive Facebook time can also increase a teen's likelihood of experiencing cyberbullying, which can lead to depression, anxiety and even suicide. The Facebook addiction was created by college dropout Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. It first started out as a campus thing in Harvard but progressively became a worldwide source of communication and entertainment. Facebook has become the world’s largest social networking website on the planet Facebook is what one calls the hub of social networking. According to (Multan,2012) “Not long after its creation, people began to exploit it by creating fake accounts, starting propagandas against different cultures, creating offensive groups to mock other religions and by posting odious pictures and videos.” This are one of the many dangers that Facebook users are vulnerable to especially teenagers.
