The Problem and its Setting
In educational institution, success is measured by academic performance. Students were exposed to established a foundation and to meet the standards of school set-up. With that, education is the road to success in the working world. Much effort must be made to identify, track and encourage the progress of students in schools. Involvement in school’s extra-curricular activities, is one of the students way to develop and enhance their skills. Activities performed by the students’ in which relevant to their chosen field is known to be extra-curricular activities1. These activities can help the students not just to develop their skills but also for them to gain peers and learn how to socialize with others. It is not necessary that when you say extra-curricular, it is only not concern sports. But rather, it may be the students’ desire or passion to be with a certain organization and his/ her skills can be enhanced.

Students prioritize their academics more than anything else. Passing in all of their subjects is every student’s objective. And so, academic performance has a special part in every student. For, it implicates the intelligence of an individual. It is also measures by success or how does the students comply with the standards in the local government and institution2. Having an excellent record in their school must be the main concern of every students. It is a way for them to have a good self-esteem on their self. In every school, they form a different kind of organizations, in which the student can choose what they would like to get involve with. The help of various organizations can help the students boost their self-confidence. And also, the chance of having a new set of peers. Being active with extra-curricular, and also performing a good academic performance, is one description that a student’s has a good self-esteem. Moreover, with that kind of maturity it may also help the students be ready in their working world and to become a well-rounded person. Moreover, adolescents, who has a position in the organization must be informed on how do they balanced their academics and extra-curricular activities. With this, they will have an idea how it reflects in their behavior. Setting of the Study

The researcher will conduct the study among the selected students of various organizations of Centro Escolar University- Makati. Currently enrolled during the school-year 2010-2011.The institution has 2 buildings. The building for Bachelor of Science and Technology is located at 259 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City, Philippines and the other building, Bachelor of Arts is located at 103 Esteban corner Dela Rosa Streets, Legaspi Village, Makati City.3

Centro Escolar University formerly known as Centro Escolar de Senoritas was founded in June 1907 by a group of civi-espirited women. Managed by Dona Librada Avelino, assisted by Carmen De Luna. They succeeded in implanting a complete system of education. It has grown to be one of the finest university, and also it is known in the field of science.1

In year 2005, Centro Escolar University gave birth in a campus located at 259 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City, Philippines. After 2 years of operation, Centro Escolar University conceived another unit at 103 Esteban corner Dela Rosa Streets, Legaspi Village, Makati City on 2007-2008. The Centro Escolar University was established to meet the growing demand for higher education.3

The study will be conducted inside the premises of Centro Escolar University-Makati. The purpose of providing the mean, is to assess the academic performance of the selected students of various organization of Centro Escolar University.
