How Home Alone relates to What we have been learning
In the movie Home Alone it has many different scenes that relate to what we have been learning in class. Some of the things that we have been learning about are the forms of energy. There are many forms of energy. The forms of energy I saw in Home Alone are, electrical, thermal, and mechanical. I also found a couple more things in the movie but they are not forms of energy. Friction and fluids are some more things that we have been talking about in class that I I had found. In the movie Home Alone they use different forms of energy. One of the things that happens is electrical energy. The electrical energy happens when Kevin's mom was on the phone trying to call to make sure Kevin was okay
This happened when the bad guys scooted along the rope to get to Kevin. This also happened when the bad guys followed Kevin home and every now and then they stopped to make sure Kevin didn't know what they were up to. Friction happens when two objects rub against each other. If you are driving a car, friction is happening because you are moving. When you stop the car friction occurs because the car stopped at a sudden rest. Mechanical energy was the last thing that happened in the movie. Mechanical energy was happening when the toy train was moving. This was happening because the energy from the train was transferred to the train tracks it was on. There was also many different things in the movie that included mechanical energy.
There are many things that we have talked about that went on in this movie. The things that happened were electrical energy thermal energy and mechanical energy, friction occurred and fluids were split. These things can all happen in everyday life. Some examples would be if you are driving, friction occurs. When you spill something a fluid is split. When you plug something in thermal energy occurs. If you use a phone than mechanical energy occurs. We learned that no matter what forms of energy are happening all around

Energy is defined as the ability to do work, such as propel the body forward by taking a step (motion). Energy and its ability to do work are measured in joules: power (watts) x time (seconds) and work joules = force (newtons) x distance (Trefil et al, 2010). Energy may be either potential or kinetic. Potential energy (PE) is energy stored and ready for use. A car stopped at the top of a hill and a water balloon dangling out of an upstairs window have potential energy. Potential energy is measured by the amount of work the object can perform.
