A.) Introduction: The tragedies that consumed our world has devastated the African-American culture. The shooting of Trayvon Martin and the Lynching of Emmitt Till are oh so similar. it is a total shame that we have not progressed one bit in leading people into a loving non hating century. but that is not the case for these two fellow black men. My first evidence is that racism is very much alive. Secondly how both murders that killed both of these young boys weren't convicted even with evidence. And lastly We have not come the least bit far. instead of lynchings there are shootings.…

However, one of the key functions of education is social solidarity which means individual members of society must feel like they are part of a single community of people; Durkheim argues that without it social life and cooperation would not be possible as everyone would want to achieve their own selfish desires. In this essay I will compare the two different poems 'Human Interest' and 'Cousin Kate'. They are written by different poets, 'Human Interest' is written by Carol Ann Duffy, whom was born in 1955 which means it is modern twentieth century language. 'Cousin Kate' is written by Christina Rossetti, who was born in 1830 and died in 1984, making this pre-twentieth century language. The narrator in 'Human Interest' is male, he is locked up in prison for stabbing his allegedly unfaithful partner. The narrator in 'Cousin Kate' is a simple country maiden whom is contented until falling in love. less effective, in my opinion, flowly rhyming technique. Carol Ann Duffy writes with mildly rhyming sharp and punchy effect, which I believe is more dramatic. I think overall 'Human Interest' with its shocking language and storyline is more effective. Although I prefer this poem I do like how the feelings of the country maiden in 'Cousin Kate' are put across as they are much more descriptive as Rossetti uses imagery words such as 'love writ in sand'. These have a more indirect approach but the romantic language is able to express feeling in a different but more descriptive manor. In "Cousin Kate", Rossetti gives messages about an abuse of power. The "Lord" "lured" the narrator to his "palace home". The word "lured" is very ominous and enforces the idea that he is a figure with authority. He manages to seduce the narrator with his flattery, and then enthrals her like a predator with his prey. The Lord has a high social standing which explains how he "wore" the "cottage maiden" like a "silken knot". The narrator felt inferior to the Lord, therefore she allows him to abuse her trust and let's him degrade her until she feels as unworthy as a "glove". This highlights the way that he degrades her and shows how he doesn't appreciate the value of her love. After the "Lord" abandoned her, the "cottage maiden" was left an "unclean thing". The word "unclean" shows how dirty and tainted she felt…

Let us first consider what the education is…. Education is the wealth of knowledge acquired by an individual after studying particular subject matters or experiencing life lessons that provide an understanding of something. There are many modes of testing one’s specific knowledge in a particular subject matter in the field of education. Exams, viva tests, interviews, and online tests are some of them. In prevailing education system in Sri Lanka, exam based education is the most commonly used system. Exam based education system is a system which tests knowledge of the students using different types of exams. According to this system students are suppose to sum up the gathered knowledge at this so called examinations. It’s pretty obvious they have to buy-heart most of the things that they learnt in order to pass those examinations. In this system there’s a particular syllabus, and the students are framed in that limited area of a particular subject. They really do not try to go out of it and they are just like frogs in the well because of their exam mentality. They memorize things just as parrots. The general education system is focused only on examinations rather than training students for the future and really testing their knowledge. Because of this, students are forced to take tests that show only their retention powers, not their actual capacity or knowledge. So engineers today cannot do actual work in technology and doctors do not go to people who need their services. Today, students are completely professionally-oriented and they take examinations for the same rather than to gain knowledge, or do research in the subject. Even in the field of medicine, no one is motivated to do research because everything is so examination.…
