The Internet has become one of the most indispensable tools for the business world, and academia. I believe that for many reasons the Internet should be considered a positive force in today’s society The Internet could be described as a collection of networks that intertwine to provide information, which allows people to connect to others around the world instantaneously. the widespread networking that led to “The Internet” . It wasn’t until the mid 1980s where…. The Internet provides modern society with an effective means of doing research, communication, and business transactions. The Internet has made traditional businesses more efficient and has created new businesses that did not exist before the Internet. For example, before the Internet, the only way to buy a car was to physically visit the dealership. Now, the Internet allows consumers to research options about different cars, and the condition that they are in. This process has made the business more efficient for buyers and sellers. Not only has the Internet enhanced traditional businesses but it has created new businesses as well. Businesses like Amazon.com which is a virtual department store, have come into existence purely because of the Internet and now large, profitable retail company. The Internet has created many business opportunities; therefore, the Internet has made business transactions more efficient. Another way that the Internet has improved society is in the academic world. The Internet has provided students with a faster means of research by offering them resources electronically that were previously unavailable. For example, these resources include JSTOR, Lexis Nexis, and even certain settings of the search engine Google that allows
