Abstract:
This assignment is meant to provide the complete features, network infrastructure and working environment of Clearview primary school from data communication management perspective. Document will explain the implementation of different network designs at the school. It will provide a brief overview of requirements and history of the school to make its readers familiar with the needs that are meant to be fulfilled with implementation of ICT infrastructure at the school. Complete network design, equipment, its cost and deployment phases will be underlined and the need to have ICT infrastructure will be satisfied. Contents

Clearview Primary School was built in 2010 to cater for between 100 and 150 local students between the ages of 5 – 12 years old in Grades Prep-6. As the network design is being proposed and implemented in 2014 so we have currently assumed and added strength of up to 200 students that could be facilitated at any given time. So the network design is now meant to cater 150 to 200 students. Structural description of the schoolNorth Wing: Contains 5 classrooms from Grade Prep to Grade 4. We have assumed an average strength of 30 students per class room. South Wing: Contains 2 classrooms for Grade 5 and 6 and a Library. We have assumed an average strength of 30 students per class room. East Wing:  Houses the Administration Building which has a Reception area, staff room, a large teachers’ office and thePrincipal’s Office. West Wing: Houses a multi-purpose room, server room, equipment storage areas and the cleaners’ store cupboard. Bandwidth requirementNorth Wing: LOW to MEDIUM

ICT requirements of the schoolStudents with Tablets:State government funding has allowed the school to provide all students with their own tablets for eLearning applications, writing assignments, accessing the Internet and undertaking school projects. WIFI access for Tablets:Each tablet can access the school’s wireless network. Wired LAN for PCs:There are also PCs in each classroom, the staff office and reception, which are wired to the school’s LAN. Laptops and Tablets for staff:Each staff member also has a laptop and a tablet. School Principal’s basic requirementsInternet access to laptops:Support for all staff laptops Internet access to PCs and printer access:Desktop support and an online printer for all classrooms WIFI access for tablets:Support for student and staff tablets Web Server support and Web content management

Firewall and Proxy requirementsAll Internet access is provided through a Proxy server which redirects all web requests to cached web content managed by the Victorian Education Department. This provides safe Web access to students and staff. It also ensures no student or staff member...
