Dancing is the first thing we hear Mrs Johnstone sing about, as she describes he life before she got married, when she first met her husband whilst out dancing. She then mentions dancing yet again when she finds out that her and her family are moving away from their life and she dances with a picture of the Pope with Mickey and her other children around her “We’re startin’ all over again”. Furthermore Mrs Johnstone, yet again, mentions dancing when she states that her new “fella” and she go dancing on a regular basis. Then once more when she explains that a judge let her son Sammy off because he wanted to take her dancing “could I take you dancing?”.…

A brief moment is seen in the first subsection – where the dancers break away from the tight formation and precise synchronisation and go into spontaneous looking duets and solos In the mean time the previously religious lyrics change to “there is trouble all over this world...”. As the lyrics return to “I’ve been buked” a strong sense of community is…
At the beginning of the song the first seven dancers who entered walking had a repeatedly step walking in a line. As they approach the stage they moved across the stage using all the space from it. As they exit the drummer boy started dancing. He was doing a solo dance moving across the stage but mainly staying tin the middle area. The boy was doing different type of jazz movements while holding the gift in his hand for the whole…
Revelations by Alvin Ailey, 1960, shows Ailey's memories from his childhood with the church and mother figures as the main inspirations and the things that filled his childhood the most. My favorite dance was the women’s jingle dance. Personally, I felt that the Jingle dress stands as musical instrument itself because of the metal clinking. In other words, a simple dance movement such as crossing the dancer feet can produce beautiful music along with the sound of the drums. It was interesting to see the women dances to move and stop their fetes exactly when the drum beats.…

Keeping a crowd dancing on a dance floor is an acquired skill. Many djs attempt this feat but consistently fall short of the feat. People enjoying a party dancing are unhappy when they and everyone around them are not interested in more than one consecutive tune played by the dj. This paper discusses the art of keeping the people on a dance floor dancing.…
Strictly Ballroom starts with the silhouettes of the dancers accompanied by Blue Danube, subsidizing the gaudy yet glamorous world in which they belong to. The extravagant costumes worn by the dancers, define how the formulated steps of the samba, further portray a pretentious world of prestige. The close up shot of dance mentor Lez Kendall when talking about Scott, who “resorted to his own flashy crowd pleasing steps” in mockumentary style informs the audience that in order to belong to this world of ballroom dancing, strict conformity to the rigid steps is required.…
The first song called, “Through the Eyes of Love,” was played from the movie called The Ice Castles. This song started off with the xylophone, and then the guitars and the rest of the instruments sounded in. They started off the song with a very bright tone and middle fast tempo. It had a lot of beats to it and it was very intense at the same time. This song was created by a very lively feeling and gave audiences a little bit information about what kind of music they were going to perform for the next three hours. Also, this song was a great opener because it made the audience (it was only about 15 of us, mostly elderly) get involved in the concert such as clapping their hands and tapping with their feet to feel the rhythm and the tempo. This song for some reason reminded me of being in the club late at night, dancing my life away. This song definitely put my groove on because I could not stop tapping my feet and moving to the beat.…
