While legislation has helped exceptional children get a free education, it has made the development of educational plans and testing cumbersome. Literature that I have read so far has highlighted how far legislation has come, but it would appear that the acts need to be simplified so that they are more teacher friendly. I learned that if I truly want to be an effective educator, I need more hands on learning and to absorb a wide variety of teaching methods. Every student learns differently and as an educator I must adapt constantly to guarantee each student is getting the most out of their
