Patriotism for America

Patriotism is important to our country. Patriotism is a way of showing respect for our country. It’s protecting and serving our country. We are patriotic so we do not forget what made this country great.

Patriotism is important because we live in a free country. When we say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem, we honor our soldiers for fighting for our freedom. It’s also important to remember when and how we gained that freedom from England and became our own country because of their sacrifices. Independence Day is a way to remember them.

It’s good to celebrate Independence Day because it was when we became a free country and when it was established that we were able to live in our free country and we could live where we wanted. We got to keep control of our own land and the government did not control it. Everyone should be able to to keep their own land rather than the government having the control.

I think everyone should be able to have their own religion, they should be able to speak where and when ever they want, and whoever wants to fight can fight and not have to be forced to like in other countries. We should still honor all the American patriots who sacrificed their lives and fortunes for us in all the wars, such as World War I and II and all the other wars.

I think that all the schools in America should have a flag of the U.S on display. It’s good to have a flag at your house. If anyone does have a flag, they should take it down in bad weather like snow, rain, or windy weather. If you do have a flag, you need to all ways take it down at night unless there is a light shining on it. You should always sing the National Anthem at sporting events and say the pledge of Allegiance at political events because it is a good way to show that you love and support your country.

That is what I think everyone should do to show their patriotism and love to America. If we did not have

Most people in the United States celebrate the 4th of July, but do you know exactly why the holiday is so important to our country? Imagine how you would feel if someone older than you (maybe an older sister or brother) kept telling you what to do all of the time and kept taking more and more of your allowance. That is how the colonists felt in the years leading up to 1776. Great Britain kept trying to make the colonists follow more rules and pay higher taxes. People started getting mad and began making plans to be able to make their own rules. They no longer wanted Great Britain to be able to tell them what to do, so they decided to tell Great Britain that they were becoming an independent country. (To…

America has always been an extremely patriotic nation. The manner in which we became a nation is a source of pride for many Americans. We fought for our freedom in the Revolutionary War, after courageously standing up to the tyrannical British government. Over the years, we have triumphed over many social injustices and have finally created a democratic nation in which all are free and equal. That history is reflected in all of us, in our laws, customs and attitudes. Most American children are taught very young that they are lucky to be Americans, and are raised to learn the reasons why they should be very proud of that fact.…

Americans are people who are accepting of every race and religion, and believe that all men are equal under the eyes of the law. This belief is a staple to American culture and is vital to our nation as a whole. For example, in the anthem “My country ‘tis of Thee” by Samuel Francis Smith, multiple lines continue to repeat the idea that America believes in freedom under the law to do as one pleases and live as he or she would like. The anthem calls America the “sweet land of liberty” and proclaims “let freedom ring!” This anthem shows that Americans truly believe in freedom and equality for everyone, and that the ideas of liberty are essential to the functioning of our…

Patriotism is being willing to die or sacrifice your personal comforts for your country. Many Founding Fathers died or donated most of their wealth to the war efforts of the American Revolution. Phillip Livingston was the wealthiest man in America in 1776, but lost every shilling by signing the Declaration. The British forced his family to leave his estate and he died two years later. An American is someone that possesses the courage to stand up for what is right in any situation. No one should ever have to suffer for what they believe in because someone else doesn’t approve and America is a place where we strive to allow everyone their own beliefs and happiness. Anyone, no matter where they are originally from, should be allowed to follow their dreams and live the life that they see for themselves. Not very long ago, a 19-year-old boy named Hamzah Aljahmi closed his eyes, never to wake up. His family had immigrated to America from Yemen with a dream of being free to do as they please. Hamzah discovered his own dream along the way. This was a dream shared by a 21-year-old Native American boy from a poor family. Professional boxers.…

America’s gift to my generation and many generations before me are many things. The main gifts that I appreciate are freedom, safety, and welfare. Most people have been sharing opinions with me about other Americans kneeling during the pledge of allegiance or the national anthem. I do not believe that kneeling is appropriate or respectful. It is disrespectful to those who fight for our freedom. The reason those people have the freedom to kneel is because of the outstanding men and women who are brave enough to fight. The fact that they have the freedom to disrespect our country is actually amazing. Even though the amount of disrespect they are showing is not appreciated, I would fight for them to be able…

Teenagers these days no longer show their pride in being an American anymore. I truly believe that without that pride in your country, there is no America. To encourage those people, maybe even friends of your own, to actually show the pride that they may or may not have in their country, you must make them realize how wonderful this country is and how well off they have it here compared to other countries all over the world. Though America is in a bad time at the moment, we have the strength and persistence to get through it as we have in the past.…

Next, In standing up for what you believe in. I can speak about my beliefs without trying to impose them on my friends. America stands for diversity and to have patriotism is to believe that all people have a right to believe in their own values. Emma Goldman said “ Patriotism assumes that our globe is divided into little spots, each one surrounded by a iron gate. Those who had the fortune of being born on some particular spot, consider themselves better, nobler, grader, more intelligent then others that live in different spots. It is therefore, the duty of everyone living on that chosen spot to fight, kill and die in the attempt to impose his superiority upon all others.” Patriotism stands for fighting for everyone to have the same freedom that I do. If others want to believe something that I don’t, I’m not going to push then into believing in the same thing I do.…
