Parents Are the Best Teachers.
-First Assignment-
New TOEFL iBT 2: “Parents are the best teachers.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
PS: When you are supposed to agree or disagree with a statement you must quote the statement.

There are many different way of thinking regarding who are the best teachers for children. On the one hand, there are those who argue that parents are the best teacher. On the other hand, there are also those who contest such view. I agree with the former position, not only because parents are the closest existence to their children, but because parents are the most influential to them.

One fact is that children spend their most time staying with their parents. In such a situation it is natural that parents affect their children behavior the most. This is why children learn more fundamental social skills and the way of thinking by their parents.
In addition, parents generally love their children the most deeply. It goes without saying that the affection of love from parents to children is necessary for teaching.

Of course, it is true that parents are not always good person. If parents are not good person, children couldn’t avoid their influence. In fact, child abuse problem is often reported by media. But such a case is just an exception and it is clear that every people who involve in the children’s education are human, which simply means nobody is perfect, so parents are human as well. That is why the personality of parents is not required perfect.

Some people think children learn a lot from their friends. Others think children learn a lot from their teacher in school life. Truly, school life gives a lot of opportunities to learn through various experiences, to be sure, but they mainly acquire the especially social skills such as communication, friendship, or literacy. These are different from what is given from parents. Parents provide more fundamental foundation as a human beings.

Children often compare their teachers to their parents. Teachers prepare children academically, and whether they like it or not, have an influence in the lives of their students. What a teacher says to a student can have the same effect as to what a parent says to their child. It is the difference between a student trying their best due to an encouraging teacher, and a student giving up because the teacher demeaned them publicly. Teachers must be aware of how they speak to their students as for what they say can truly effect their lives.…

There are no bad children, only bad parents; they are only copying what they see from the different members of the family. It is also known that the role of the family during early children development is very important, principally because of its role as an agent of socialization by which the children learn the models to follow. Although the emphasis placed on the early years may be overstated, most parents feel that they are responsible for the behavior of their children and for how they turn out.…
