What is FDR’s New Deal? How did it change the country? Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of, if not the most prominent, presidents of the twentieth century. As he got elected, he started the race for the revival of the United States. The main idea he had to shift America in the right direction was the New Deal plan. It changed the country and took it by storm. It transformed the country by helping the people who suffered from the Great Depression. Three key ways it altered the country was because of the three r’s FDR promised in the New Deal. The next way it changed the United States was because it adjusted working conditions to better help people combat the horrid living conditions. The recovery aspect of the New Deal was aimed at recovering the economy to what it was before the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the Great Depression. Reform was the last goal or r from the three r’s that Roosevelt promised. Franklin’s goal in this area was to reform the economy and finances so there wouldn’t be a repeat of the Great Depression. Moving along, because Roosevelt’s New Deal impacted America a lot for the better, in many ways, supported it. First off, the promise from Franklin of relieving Americans, reforming the American system, and recovery so that the economy would be back to standard. These would then be called the Three R’s, promised by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his many speeches on what he was going to do to help America once and for all. Furthermore, The Three R’s did help as a big topic, but the work that was put into it, like working conditions for people during this time, was one of the key reasons why the United States got back to a stable economy.
