I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
The poem “Sympathy” is the inspiration for ”i Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” it inspired it by it talking about how black people felt as they were treated wrong and how they were not able to leave or run away from their cage it also points to sow the process that people took to keep them in what white people thought was there place and treated them so.

In the poem “Sympathy” the poem talks about how blacks were treated by white slavers also it mentions the things they did to keep them working on the plantations. The poets parents were freed slaves.
