Why Should You Support Gay Marriage? Help Gay Marriage Become Legal (Writing To Persuade)
The issue of same-sex marriage is highly charged and debated, encompassing a wide variety of beliefs and viewpoints. Those against it usually maintain that marriage is between a man and a woman, that same-sex marriage will weaken the institution of marriage and some also object to it on religious grounds. Those who support same-sex marriage are typically of the opinion that two consenting adults have the right to be in a relationship with each other and receive the social, emotional, economic and financial benefits of marriage.
Why should same-sex marriage be legal? The argument that traditional marriage will be weakened isn’t strong enough, because with divorce, blended families, cohabitation and perhaps the structure of the animal kingdom, traditional marriage itself can be objected to in several ways or seen as “unnatural” in society.There are many arguments against traditional marriage and people who don’t believe in it, but that doesn’t mean that people can’t get married, so the same should be true of same-sex marriages. It doesn’t hurt anyone else, or their marriage, if two committed individuals, who happen to be of the same sex, marry each other. In fact, statistics show that it has the opposite effect, often lowering divorce rates.
One of the reasons people don't suppport same-sex marriage is mainly because of how certain religions view same-sex for example the Islam faith believe being in a same-sex marriage is "an ugly sin which Allah forbids in all religions, even in the most primitive ones and it is against the ordinances of Allah and against the law of nature." Some people go on to say "how someone allows or gives a legal sanction to such a widespread act that poses a threat to the whole human race and destroys our fabric of society like cancer" I can infer from these quotes that having a relationship with the same sex is highly unacceptable in the
