child protection policy
Hnnnjn
My responsibility as a childminder is to ensure the safety and welfare of all the children in my care in line with the procedures laid out by the Integrated Access Team.
I last received training on Safeguarding Children (child protection) in November 2012 and am aware of the signs and symptoms of child abuse, physical, emotional and sexual, and those of neglect. This policy shall be shown to parents explaining my responsibilities, how I keep their child +-en) safe and what I will do should I ever have any concerns. Parents will be asked to sign this document as proof that they have read and understood it. I have also taken the time out to understand the policy and information around it. Anyone working with myself will also be aware of and understand the policy.
Aims:
To ensure that children are effectively safeguarded from the potential risk of harm whilst in my care and that the safety and well-being of the children is of the highest priority in all aspects. To help maintain the ethos of my setting whereby myself, other adults, children and parents feel able to articulate any concerns comfortably, safe in the knowledge that effective action will be taken as appropriate. I shall review and revise this policy every year.
Purpose:
To ensure that myself, other adults, children and parents:
Are aware of responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and child protection.
Know the procedures that should be followed if they have a cause for concern.
Know where to go to find additional information regarding safeguarding.
Are aware of the key indicators relating to child abuse.
Fully support my commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Principles:
I keep up to date with child protection issues and relevant legislation by taking regular training courses and by reading relevant publications. This helps me be aware of the signs of abuse or neglect and what to do if I have a concern.
I have copies of, and am familiar with, the Local
