In our contemporary life one of the most controversial problems is a capital punishment. Capital punishment or the death penalty is a severe legislative way which sentenced to death the offender for violent crime. This method was widely applied in ancient times: from the fall of Rome Empire to the beginnings of modern era and was practiced throughout Western Europe. According to statisticians, the first countries which declined the capital punishment were Venezuela (1863), San Marino (1865) and Costa Rica (18887). Plenty of countries in a present-day continuing use this method in their own law. Therefore two parts of community existing today which has positive and negative points. In this essay, the issue will consider from both points of view and then given my own opinion on the matter.
On one side of the argument there are people who believe that the benefits of executing violent criminals significantly outreach disadvantages. The main reason is afraid of execution acts as a deterrent to commit serious offence. Offender never attends to across the legislation without deeply thinking of consequences. According to International reports, over 23,000 people were sentenced to the death worldwide at the end of 2013. Statisticians confirmed that it was contributed to decline the serious crime or exterminate completely in several countries which carried out execution. It is proved that deterrence is an effective way to reduce the violence in society. It is also possible to say that the punishment of a criminal may bring release to the suffering victims. If court just sentenced someone who did kill twenty years in prison, it gives to relatives of murdered an inevitable desire to destroy him or concern about prisoner vengeance. One appropriate example of this is an expression of gladness and freedom of many offerings who were pressured under Saddam Hussein`s rule when he was eventually captured and executed.
On the other hand, there are a lot of things to make the opposite points. It is often controverted that in fact committing offenders to the death is likewise killing another person. People often providing this opinion because they think that it is unfairly to take another murder`s life, no matter what kind of reason is. It is deprived value of human rights. A second point is that many religions are opposed to any form of murder. Neither on Bible either on Koran do not mentioned or written that the death penalty uses to the person who deserves it from the action of violence. Therefore, the whole religion flows categorically against to the ultimate punishment. The most common and undeniable argument to the capital punishment is that soon or later, innocent people will killed from the judge mistakes or legislation system. For instant, to one offender used the death penalty and killed him. After one decade prosecutors will find some facts of this violent crime which will determine that person who killed by the court was innocent. Although that the lawyers will acknowledge it, this process is already inevitable to re-establish. Consequently, relatives and family of guiltless person will suffers from justice system which was operated appropriately.
To sum up, both of arguments have their merits. However, it is tend to believe that the human life is an invaluable thing what we have received and nothing should contribute to take it whatever happens. In my opinion, the main fair way is to review the whole measures of capital punishment with limited execution, which include only sentence in the prison.

Many positions can be defended when debating the issue of capital punishment. In Jonathan Glover's essay "Executions," he maintains that there are three views that a person may have in regard to capital punishment: the retributivist, the absolutist, and the utilitarian. Although Glover recognizes that both statistical and intuitive evidence cannot validate the benefits of capital punishment, he can be considered a utilitarian because he believes that social usefulness is the only way to justify it.
