Being Rich vs Being Famous
As we all know that there are many rich and famous people around the world. Most of them such as football, David Beckham, musician, Steve Wonder, and inventor, Bill Gates became rich and famous is because of their talent, hardworking and creativity. However, some rich people might not be famous as they are fortunate to be born with a silver spoon. In my opinion, a person should put more efforts on their studies and career in order to be rich and famous. The different aspects of being rich and being famous are lifestyle, social status, and privacy. First and foremost, the lifestyle of a rich person is much better than a famous person. Being rich, he can have many things that a famous person might not has. This is because some famous people might not be rich; on the other hand, it is simply easy for a rich person to buy things that he wishes to have. Furthermore, famous movie stars have a more stressful lifestyle. It cannot be denied that they often followed by paparazzi, thus some of the unwanted news about them will be shown on television or printed in magazines and newspaper. Nevertheless, a rich person seldom becomes the headlines among the public as his achievement might not attract the attention of the paparazzi. Therefore, he may have a more comfortable and peaceful lifestyle. Secondly, a rich person might have better social status than a famous person. Basically, there are many things to be considered when climbing the social ladder. Those things are your money, your family, who you know and how you came across your money or fame. Billionaires and millionaires are at the top of their social status but are hardly famous to the younger demographic because they are not “famous” by virtue of being presented to the younger generation’s information highway. Famous politicians and movie stars are very different from one another in many aspects. As we all know, a movie stars who is hardworking and has great determination will easily gain

When you look on your phone, and you see a famous person, are you like me and say, “I want to be famous like them some day”. Well one day when I was younger I wanted to be exactly like a basketball player. I wanted to be like Michael Jordan. But now something changed I want to be exactly like Stephen Curry. Why? I want to because one I'm not going to be tall enough to be like Mike. Secondly I can shoot the ball pretty well for a seventh grader. Stephen Curry made 402 three pointers in 79 games that's almost 5.1 threes in one game some players don't even make one in a game but yet to average 5 in a game that's really good. The thing is you don't have to be well known by people to be famous for something else. Like in the poem "Famous" by Shihab Naomi, it states that "a river is famous to a fish" the meaning of famous in this poem is well known. Isn't the river well known to the fish? Isn't a…

There are many celebrities who were born into the extravagant lifestyle of the rich and famous, however there are also some that built themselves up to success from a “normal life.” These people change the status quo everyday, by working hard and creating a legacy they can be proud of. Youtubers are an excellent example of this. A celebrity who built herself from the ground-up, and became extremely influential is Lilly Singh, also known as aka “Superwoman.”…

The first point I would like to make in this paragraph consist of the misconception of the wealthy, regarding the idea of how it is simply handed down from one another. The wealth and income of many many people, both middle class and the rich is a result of hard work and self made prosperity. Not a product of good fortune, greed, and deliberate deprivation of the poor. Many of the people who are wealthy today once started off and average people who faced struggles and hardships as well. Business owners have twelve failures for every one success, doctors endure eight years of college, and many middle management employees once started off as simple assembly line workers. One specific business venture that I myself have eight years experience…

Rich and wealthy are all based on personal opinions. The average person does not desire to be rich, they just want enough money to live on, and maybe a little more for extras. For the average person, extras include vacations, newer cars, and newer phones. Another question to help answer the big question is, Do people need money to be happy in life?. Many people would say yes and argue that people can buy the things that make them happy. The other side might argue that the things that make people happiest cannot be bought. Such as love, family, and good health. If everyone can find what makes them happy in life, then that should help direct them to their American…

Being popular and rich in “America Today” is defined as being successful. I don’t agree with this assumption but it’s acceptable in American culture. With fame and fortune you supposedly are happy and with the success of accumulating money you are truly happy. According to CNBC Reporter, Robert Frank, “Surveys show that among Americans, most say they need $1 million or more to feel wealthy”. Americans connect money with happiness. But it has been proven that money cannot guarantee one’s life will be filled with…

A multitude of people who are famous, came from nothing and made themselves into someone with hard work, determination, and the incentive to be known. Examples of this include: average athletes are becoming olympians by enduring rigorous training, money, and time; Oprah’s journey from poverty to prosperity by becoming a successful radio talk-show host; and singers who are being recognized through American television shows such as American Idol or The Voice. In political offices, a prosperous person is a lot more likely to win because they can afford to campaign and travel more. The political example shows how the power of money has a heavy influence on people voting and how a person with money usually possesses an advantage. However, not everyone has benefitted from this new American Dream, there are a plethora of people left disappointed and…

Social class has played a large part in the history of the world. Many times in certain countries, the only way to attain a high social class was either to be born into a wealthy family or marry into a family with a high social class. Although most people generally think that members of a high social class have a lot of money, which most do, one could just have royal blood, have virtually no money, and still have a high class. This creates a system where the rich, powerful, and influential people stay in the highest class and rarely come down. Because the Upper Class have connections the lower class could never dream of having, its often easier to succeed. People who…

Being famous does not necessary mean bring rich, and vice-versa. Both generally bring satisfaction if brought to one in a positive manner, or in a way he/she intended it to. Because being famous and being rich are both signs leading to success, which in most cases, is the human’s ultimate goal. Being just either rich or famous, other than being a positive thing, could produce highly negative and unwanted end results too. A huge percentage of people are famous as a result of all sorts of negativity, such as criminal acts and negative politics. At the same time, a good part of the world’s drug lords and terrorism-driven groups are fairly rich too. So when does being rich or famous become a good thing? Usually, a combination of being rich and famous, surprisingly, doesn’t do as much harm to coexisting peers, as the former would. Although criminals who fall under lists such as ‘FBI’s Most Wanted’, turn out to be rich and famous, regardless of how they got to where they are. But a bigger portion of the ‘rich and famous’ category are occupied by highly paid movie stars and sportsmen, neither of whom does much harm to the society.…

    Is Fame Good Or Bad?

    • 522 Words

Phenomenom of fame is widespread around the world. Being famous today is not the same as it was 50-100 years ago. Andy Warhol once said : In the future everyone will have their 15 minutes of fame. Well, in my opinion, that time has come. People from all around the world are trying to get their way out there on the stage. It has become easy to acquire fame, but difficult to keep it. People get famous for doing nothing and the ones who want to become famous don't have many obstacles on their way. They can just apply on a reality show and soon their names will be on the tops of „the most searched“ lists on Google and Yahoo, and not to mention the yellow press. Little girls and boys from all around the world are, when asked what do they want to be when they grow up, usually answering that they want to be famous. Fame has lost its value. Celebrities with or without justified reasons to be famous are followed by a bunch of paparazzi each day. They are getting interviewed and photographed for worthless magazines intended for masses. Their private lives become a matter of abstraction and are endangered. As for those whose fame is a result of hard work, talent, high IQ or great achievements, their fame is well-earned. Such are, for example, great writers, mathematicians and artists. They are usually the ones who are, no matter how good they are at what they do, less famous than the ones who deserve it less. That is good because they don't need to sacrifice their private lives, they have their freedom of expression + they make a lot of money.…
