Blair Cornelia Waldorf is the main character of the CW television series "Gossip Girl." Blair is labeled as the Queen Bee of the upper class high school she attends and Manhattan's social scene. She is a vain and stuck up overachiever who is only set on satisfying her needs and being superior towards others. It seems as if her main goal is to hold power over everyone and make others do her bidding. She always strives for perfection whether it be physically or academically. Blair is also a only child and the closest thing she has to a sibling is her friend, Serena. Throughout the television series, Blair's struggles with her social status and insecurities are depicted. One of the main insecurities that Blair deals with is trying to not be overshadowed by her best friend Serena. Serena is the one that usually gets all the attention because of her beauty and is the only one that can threaten Blair's Queen Bee status. Blair's main skill in the series is the ability to manipulate the people around her. Most of her peers listen to her because of her social ranking and the power that comes behind her money. Besides her manipulative capabilities, she has no remorse for playing games with people's heads or destroying someone's social life. At times, Blair shows characteristics that she has a heart. She is kind to people lower on the social totem pole as long as nobody else finds out. Her insecurities are what mainly causes her to put up a defense and refuse to trust the people around her. Blair's mother is also a contribution to why Blair's personality is the way it is. Her mother constantly critiques Blair's image and makes snide remarks whenever Blair does something.
