Study Guide, First Midterm Examination

The first midterm exam, which counts for 20% of your course grade, will be on Thursday, October 2, in class. Blue books are not necessary; there is no need to bring a blue book to class on exam day. You will be asked to complete the exam on the bubble sheet (provided) and on the exam.

This is a closed book exam – consultation of notes and books is not permitted during the exam.

You are responsible on this exam both for material presented in class lectures and for the readings assigned. As to the readings, questions on the exam (multiple choice, true/false, identify the speaker, essay, etc.) will be drawn from the list of topics, sections, or chapters below. Where topics are specified (in parentheses, next to the chapter or section of the text), questions on the exam will concern the topics specified. Some questions, however, might concern material from the readings listed below that was not discussed in class, so be sure to review the readings listed below in addition to your lecture notes.

Review the Outline of Plato’s Apology (on Angel)
