Academic Accomplishments Essay Example
Academic Accomplishments Essay When people think of life accomplishments they always look to the big pictures. Saving the world, curing cancer, landing on the moon and such. Whatever happened to the little things in life that didn't exactly change the world but was just you know ... cool? You don't have to feed the hungry to accomplish something in life. Life isn't always all about the big picture. One of the biggest things you could accomplish is simple academic awards. Doesn't sound like much but hey, it is something to definitely be proud of accomplishing. I remember in elementary school I was reading and writing at an above average level. For some odd reason I just loved the idea of being able to write words into a book and have people read the words I wrote. Reading isn't the most fun thing in the world to do but to write is to create. Writing allows ideas to flow into any which way you please. As long as you can write you can take a story in any direction you feel. In middle school surprisingly I made it on the A - B honor roll. The smile I put on my parents face each time I was called up to the stage to take my award is never forgettable. Getting on the A - B honor roll then was pretty cool actually. Anything you ask for from your parents generally lands right in your hands if you get this award. They can't say no to you, especially when you deserve it. In high school I don't know what happened to me. No awards received these four years at all. Maybe high school just is not my time to shine. Haven't landed on the honor roll once, no reward for doing sports, nothing. Just another senior in high school. It is not such a bad thing not receiving anything like I used to. Maybe my fire has been put out, but who knows. One accomplishment I can look forward to that is very miniscule but important to all is graduating this year. If you accomplish nothing in high school the least you can do is

An experience that makes me proud during my first year of school was failing. It was a wake-up call, a realization that I could overcome a difficult obstacle due to the mistakes I had made. Therefore, I dedicated all my time to make-up all the classes I received low grades in. I pushed myself to persevere and not become a high school drop-out; I refused to be labeled a failure. I worked twice as hard in the classes I had received low grades; so when I was taking them again I would pass with a better grade I would be satisfied with. I managed my time efficiently to give myself enough time for each class and receive help when I asked certain teachers who offered tutoring. I took advantage of all extra credit assignments when offered, I believed…

Fortunately, by the fifth grade my parents were able to rent an apartment nearby our school and had found jobs in multiple Brownsville restaurants. After the move, things became much easier and we were able to have a much simpler life, though we were never able to forget the hardships we experienced and the effort we put into enhancing our lives. Today, I am sure my successes as of now are gratifying my parents as I am in the top 10% of my class, the Co-Captain of the Golden Stars Dance Team, member of the National Honor Society, Piano Club, HOSA, and in TRIO UTRGV talent search program. I attend rigorous AP classes to improve my opportunity to attend a university and have the finest future I can give myself. Although my triumphs may not look like much to most, I can assertively say that the trial of going through difficulty to have a superior future has been overcome with the comfort of focus, strength, and the right set of mind to build a better tomorrow for my family and…

My failures taught me that sometimes we have to give up friend, family, and my spare times to work on homework and study extra for all of my class.I came home everyday to look at my notes and study with my sister for hours until I was sure I knew what I was doing. I learned that having a disability doesn’t make me any less smarter than other people. Soon after, I learned how to speak, write and read English. because of all of the effort I put into learning soon after, I was mastering all of my class. Getting Student of the Month three times in a row, most outstanding student, as well as most improved student. I liked earning all of this awards because it told me that my hard work did pay off. When I finally went into High School I decided it was time to drop out of Study Skills because I knew I was ready to do school all on my own.…

My most outstanding achievement is my GPA. I am very close to having a 4.0 GPA and I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am. School hasn't came easy to me, but it is something that I work very hard at. I love to learn knew things, and I don't have a photographic memory so I have to go home and study every night. I've taken college courses since my freshman year, and I've almost taken every class Wabash High School has to offer. Math is my worst subject, but I work very hard at it and I work for my grade in there. I selected this achievement because I feel as if it is the most important thing I have accomplished. Neither of my parents cared about school so they didn’t try, and therefore my brother had no motivation to try. He did finally…
