I would personally vote for Hillary Clinton because she is a politician who the Americans can trust with our government. She is the best choice out of the four candidates, with the most experience working for American politics. Furthermore, the other nominees’ ideas for America and beliefs do not stand up for what I believe in personally. Hillary Clinton is someone who I look up to and would want to vote for, as she shares my views on issues such as immigration, LGBT rights, and debt-free college.…

“The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin is a short story written in the 1800’s that describes the roller coaster of reactions and emotions the main character, Louise Mallard, endures after hearing the news that her husband is believed to have been killed in an accident. Although Mrs. Mallard may be criticized for what seems to be ‘heartless’ at first, the story illustrates exactly how different a woman felt in the 1800’s compared to how a woman would feel today if the accident occurred.…

Since the dawn of time, women have changed their appearances. Whether it be a new hairstyle, make-up, or clothes, the options for individuality and beauty seem endless today. Women on average spend $217 on makeup, $417 on body care products, $1,069 on clothing, and $250 on shoes for a total of $1,953 per year (Parker). That 's $1,953 per year on appearance items that most women won 't even keep or use the following year. It is also just the tip of the disposable beauty iceberg as it does not include hair and nail visits or tanning. So what about more permanent modifications like plastic surgery? In the US alone, $10.1 billion is spent annually on plastic surgery (Mele).…

The person whom I admire most is my mom, -. She has been my rock for as long as I have been alive. My mom has raised me to be a respectful, mature, caring, and hardworking individual. She healed the boo-boos I suffered as a young child, guided me through the awkwardness of puberty, and softened the heartache and disappointment that come with adolescence. My mom is the hardest worker I know. While taking care of three children despite her multiple sclerosis, my mom went to college and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She is also the kindest person I have ever met. If my mom knew of anyone who didn’t have enough food, she would literally get food out of our cabinets to feed them. Lastly, she is the smartest person—academically as well as commonsense-wise—I have ever met. Over the years my mom has talked me out of many bad decisions, such as bell-bottom jeans and blue eye-shadow, and coached me to make good choices, such as charity work and taking college classes in high school. Because my mom has passed along so much of her wisdom to me, I will be better able to contribute to society than I would have been without her example.…
