why cheating is wrong
Cheating is wrongful; it is deceitful, dishonest, and hurtful to yourself and most definitely those around you. Cheating can be anything from peeking at another students work during a quiz to plagiarizing, to having someone else do assigned work for you. Whether a cheater’s reasoning seems appropriate to them at the time, cheating is wrong under any circumstances. Anyone who cheats will have to suffer the effects when they are caught. Performing an act of cheating can hurt your future and can also hurt the futures of others that may have been involved. A cheater is taking away from their abilities and the people you are cheating off of, but most importantly it is lying.
A cheater is more than likely lying to themselves more than to the people around them. A person can only go so far before their lies catch up to them, begin to accumulate, and start to penalize you. To do well in school, we as a student body need to work hard, study hard, and do our own work. If a person is cheating they are not receiving the full benefit of the class/ classes they are in. People attend college to further their education so they can have a better job, which may lead to a better life and much needed morals. To cheat is to take the easy way instead of put in our own specific time.
To describe cheating in a single sentence, it is a lack of judgment and character. Perhaps the biggest mistake we can make is to cheat or use someone else’s work; the act is highly regrettable and sticks with our conscience for life. What cheating means to me is the lack of courtesy and honorable failure. The way I see it is if a student has not used their own knowledge to achieve their own, whether it be an ‘A’ or an ‘F’ than can be classified as a cheater. Though I have my own opinion, I also believe that it is usually defined and interpreted by many people as the way a person procrastinates something until the last minute of the due time. A cheater is either lazy or taking desperate measures. Someone

Cheating of course is the act of copying someone else’s work and making it seem as if it is you own. But what about those that are not glancing over someone’s test to get the answers, but instead, are allowing their work to be copied? This is called passive cheating, when a person either lets others copy their work or do not notify a teacher when they see someone cheating. Both are equally at fault. Although passive cheating can be seen as less morally significant, it still allows the dishonest action to continue. “Cheating in college poses a threat to all of our educations, and it can only be reduced by us choosing to stop it from happening.”(Bryce Buchmann). This is why…

Copying someone else's words or work and saying they're yours is a type of cheating called plagiarizing.…
