Why Am I Great Research Paper
Have you ever saved a bird from a trash can? The possibility is very slim but if you have high five. But this is an example of why I am so great. I was nice enough to notice that the bird was stuck and it might of needed help; so then I pulled off the trash can lid and picked up the large trash can and let the bird fly away. Another reason I am great is because I am also very respectful to other people. An example of why i am respectful is because I will hold a door for people if they are old or just plainly out of nowhere just to be respectful. The last example of why I am great, Is I have traveled to an exotic country many times. The exotic place is Egypt and the great thing about me being there, is I have been in the Pyramid of Giza (The …show more content…
A Great example of this is when I saved a bird from a trash can. I had heard the sound of flapping around me and then a little tweep. It had been a small bird stuck in a cage of a trash can. So then I realized it was stuck, so then I lifted the cover to the trash; then the very heavy trash. Then the little bird flew away and an old lady had said great job to me. Which made me feel great. This a great example of why I am so great and shows it very well in this true story.

Another Great trait of me is that I am very respectful. If someone had done something nice for me, I would have said thank you multiple times. But a real example of being respectful is when I was about 8 years old when I was at a Red Sox game. I had noticed that there was an old man with a military looking jacket with multiple badges on. I had thought he might have been in the military. So I had walked up to him and said “Thank you for your service”. He then replied “ Your welcome” with a big smile. I ended up getting 3 game baseballs by a man who had heard me earlier before talking to the old man. This was a cool example of how I was respectful to an older man. Then ended up getting 3 MLB

Selflessness is found in everyone, just as it is found in Stardust. A great example of a selfless person in my life is my boyfriend, Ryan. Recently, I was scheduled to work at 5 o’clock pm, and my Grandma was going to give me a ride there, since I do not have a car. However, my Grandma’s boyfriend was rushed to the emergency room due to complications caused by the new chemotherapy he was receiving. Understandably, my Grandma accompanied her boyfriend to the Emergency room. Normally, I would call my boyfriend and he would take me to work in a situation similar to this, but I knew that my boyfriend planned to meet up with some friends. I called my Mother, and my Mother refused to take me to work. Not knowing what else to do, or who else to call, I called my boyfriend; without skipping a beat Ryan agreed to take me to work, postponing the plans he made in order to make sure I got to work on time. Ryan’s plans no longer mattered to him, since I needed his help. Although the action was simple, the meaning behind it is much more than that, and I am forever grateful for all of the selfless people I have in my…

Other people can learn many things from my person of honor. Some of the things that can learn are to work for your money and not take other people’s money like it was your own. You could learn this off of my grandpa Lloyd because he was a hard worker until he was 70 years old and he never asked for anything from anybody, even if times were tough. Another thing other people can learn from my grandpa was that if you work hard it will pay off. You could learn this from my grandpa because he worked 7 days a week for a long time and had everything paid off so he was never in debt. I have learned many things from my grandpa. Some of the things are not being serious all the time, and always have fun. This was important to me it makes me who I am today. This was important to me because I do exactly what he says now and he was my hero. This is why I chose my grandpa as my honorable person.…

I was always considered as being a bit of a 'soft touch' when I was younger, constantly letting others have their way. In my older life, and particularly within my job role, this has taught me that I can be emphatic and sympathetic towards people. I have always been interested in history, including my own family history. When I was young, I would sit for hours on end listening to grandmas stories of her own background and where she came from. This has given me a sense of my own self and has taught me how to be a good listener with the people that I care for in my working life.…

Everyone has to work for a living. The choice is yours whether or not you enjoy it. I am fortunate that I enjoy my career field; I just don’t love the monetary benefits. This, among many other reasons, is why I decided to go back to school. It makes me smile to think of what my mother would say about my studies. As a teenager, I was studying maths during the nights and early mornings either in quiet or while listening to music from the 80s, and she would sometimes knock on my door and smile. I wasn't good at maths, but I liked studying a topic from the basics to understand it. It's why I came first in a maths contest: not because I was good at maths in general, but because I had an interest in the understanding of each step. You would expect a maths contest paper to contain a lot of numbers, but mine was all paragraphs: I was explaining the rationale of solving the exercises, quoting the theorems in words and writing my thoughts in paragraphs justifying why it was a way or another.…

Being kind to others, listening to people , seeing others as basically good and being respectful of other people feelings have helped me in my interpersonal skills with people and also make an impact on someone else life. I was touched recently when I discovered that one of my employees was homeless and during this difficult time in her life I was observing a change in her attendance and productivity. I did meet with her and did realize that there was some underlying issues in her life and give her time to make adjustments without being very punitive in my approach. It was after this issue was resolved that she personally thanked me for my patience and humanistic approach in dealing with this…

When someone does something completely selfless, merely for the sake of helping other, and put their own well-being on the line, it is one of the clearest examples of human good. A man who clearly exemplifies this selflessness is Sir Nicholas Winton. In WW2 when he went on a trip to Prague and saw all the children being taken by the Nazis he arranged their safe transport to Britain in order to save them. He ended up saving over 669 Czechoslovakian children from capture and put his own safety in going against Nazis regime. He wasn’t given credit for it until 40 years later when his wife discovered a book in their attic with the names of all the children he saved. She contacted the producers of the television show “That’s Life” who invited them to be a part of their live audience. However, they surprised him when partway through the show they asked who in the audience had been saved by him at which point it was revealed that the entire live audience were the people that he had saved and their families. He was recognized for his selfless actions that had saved so many lives.Add Transitional sentence Another example of selfless action is found in Gehlaur village, in Bihar, India. Dashrath Manjhi was a poor laborer who lost his wife when she was not able to get to hospital due to the poor roadway system. When this happened he decided that he was…

I am great because I’m not just an African in a crowd of people. I am an individual who learned more about myself. By grabbing others with my word of what I had learned, I was able to make people really think about what they didn’t understand at first. I was someone willing to learn about my roots and teach others something that most people would never have discovered on their own. This experience is what makes me want to pursue…

There are many good deeds which I have performed and am very proud of. I will now discuss a few of them. One of the greatest deeds I did was to visit my sick grandmother in the hospital, although I had a long school day and was very tired. Even though I was only eight years old, I would visit her for five to six hours a day. I did this despite the fact she had no clue that I was even there. Even though my friends invited me to stay overnight while she was sick, I refused. All I could think about was being with her. A short time afterwards, my grandmother was transferred to a rehabilitation center near my school. On the Sabbath and Passover I walked a mile each way just to visit her. I did this on Friday nights too. I am very proud of this since it shows how much I truly care about and love my grandmother. Even though I was still quite young, I really appreciated my grandmother and understood all she had done for me. In addition, I also visited other people in the nursing home, which made them quite happy and improved their spirits. These were some of my grandmother’s friends, and it made her proud that I made them happy. This was especially rewarding since some of them did not make it and it was their last chance to be happy.…
